  • I had the honor to have one of my short films, “Same, Same but Different”, selected to be shown at the New York City & State, TV, and Plays & Film Festival. The Festival took place July 15 & 16 at The Gallery and Then the Theater. I was not able to attend the Saturday showing but my wife, Emily, and the lead actress in our film, Nathalia Dworakowski and I attended the Sunday showing. We were greeted at the door by Anngeannette Pinkston, the director and curator of the festival. The venue was decorated so elegantly and aside from the general feeling of excitement the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming.
There were six short films and two music videos each of fine quality and representing various genres; comedy, drama & experimental presented to an enthusiastic audience. My party and I found it thrilling to see our film along with the others on a large screen and to hear the reaction from the viewers.
After the films were shown there was an awards ceremony, graciously hosted by Ms. Pinkston. As the awards were given out each recipient was given two minutes to express their surprise and gratitude for having been included in the selection. I, along with the other film makers and casts attending, cannot thank Anngeannette Pinkston and everyone involved with putting together the New York City & State, TV, and Plays & Film Festival for this wonderful recognition of our work.

Unfortunately, we were not able to attend do to health reasons, but we appreciate our film "The Buschers: An Alzheimer's Story" being accepted into the festival. It was an honor to receive Best Director and for Larry DiBartolomeo to receive Best Actor. Thank you for that hard work of the staff.

  • It is a pleasure to see this festival grow from the previous iteration. I hope to see even more growth the next time around as well. For some members of my team, this was their very first experience with a film festival & I'm glad that it was this particular festival that they had their first impressions made. Anngeannette & company really gave their all into the creation & organization of this festival & it shows. A very pleasant group of people with a great cause.
