The New Westminster Film Society in New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada, next Call for submissions begins May 1, 2024, for the 2024 New West Film Fest, which runs Friday, October 25, Saturday October 26, & Sunday, October 27, 2024.
We welcome Shorts and Features, including documentaries, narratives, experimental, and animated.
We are especially interested in films by communities and cultures underrepresented in film.

New West Film Fest (formerly New West Doc Fest) was founded in 2011 by people with a passion for film, arts, and community. The festival’s mandate is to present new films, and build local and international community for artists and film-goers. We are an entirely volunteer run 3-day festival. We have screenings of feature length and collections of short films.

We can only show so many films in 3 days, and we do not have the capacity to give feedback for films that are not selected.
We are excited to watch your submitted films, and wish you the very best!
This annual event runs in October, and is highly anticipated in the city of New Westminster, BC Canada. We are the only film-based arts organization in New Westminster, and we strive to build community through film for the people of New Westminster and environs, as well as for the local and international
independent filmmakers.
