NEW RETROGRADE
Joshua Raley is a U.S. Navy veteran turned award winning filmmaker, musician, and storyteller whose work confronts the silent wars waged inside the human mind. After being diagnosed with PTSD, Raley channeled his experience into art. He uses film and music not as escape, but as exorcism through his production company, NEW RETROGRADE.
Graduating Radio/Television/Film School at Austin Community College in Summer 2025, Raley writes, directs, and scores deeply personal projects that blend cinematic grit with raw emotional truth. His artistic persona, TECHNICIAN, bridges worlds: combining dark electronic tones, cinematic visuals, and soul-infused narrative into an immersive style that is both visceral and haunting.
Raley is currently attending Texas State University to pursue a second degree, expanding his foundation in Mass Communications with a focus on Electronic Media. This continued education allows him to better serve clients with a deeper understanding of storytelling, broadcast standards, and modern digital production—bridging creative vision with technical execution.
