We're New Genesis, a film festival based in Brighton fundraising for MIND, the UK's biggest Mental Health charity.

Our program is from the best graduate projects from the University of Brighton, University of Sussex, BIMM, screening at our first event this September. This gives Brighton’s top students the opportunity to

● Network; At the heart of our festival is recognising graduate talent and connecting it with industry connections to form meaningful career connections for University Graduates.
● Encourage; Allowing students from freshers to graduates to come and see the top student work being produced in Brighton, pushing the boundaries for creativity and setting the bar.
● Welcome; Introduce new talent to Brighton, enabling students to lend skills to different productions, creating stronger future projects and producing graduates with more credits and industry-ready skills.

New Genesis is hosted at the iconic ODEON, Brighton, sponsored by BIMM. From actors to crew, we're is overflowing with creatives, eager to hone their skills and expand their networks.

The films selected are the highest quality from one of the most creative and diverse cities in the UK!

Submissions are accepted from across the UK, with a focus on student and graduate work. Your work will still be considered if it falls outside of this category, but we ask you let us know why we are the festival for you.

We ask that our submissions do not use any generative AI.

Submissions must be 15 minutes or less.

Submissions must be classified as an age rating of 18 or less.

Submissions must be from original content - direct adaptions are not eligible.

Submissions must have consent from all contributors to be screened.
