Our mission is to empower and showcase the creative talents of new generations in filmmaking, aged 13 – 17 and aged 18/30. We provide a platform for emerging filmmakers, students, professionals, and enthusiasts to share their passion for film and connect with like-minded individuals. Our one-day festival in November celebrates innovative storytelling and cinematic excellence, featuring:

1. All short films must be produced within Miami-Dade County.

2. The jury will select and screen (10) short films in each category, depending on the number of entries. Once selected, films cannot be withdrawn.

3. Categories:

18-30 years old
13-17 years old
4. In the 13-17 category, the filmmaker must not exceed 18 years of age at the time of submission. In the 18-30 category, the filmmaker must not exceed 30 years of age at the time of submission. However, the age of the rest of the team (staff, actors, etc.) is not restricted.

5. The New Generations Miami Short Film Festival and participants must adhere to the applicable code of conduct and ethics. Films with content that does not respect morality and ethics will be excluded.

6. We reserve the right to update our terms and conditions. Participants will be notified of any changes via the internet.

7. Technical issues with submitted films are the sole responsibility of the filmmakers.

8. If a selected film’s video file or English subtitles (for non-English films) do not work, it will be automatically rejected.

9. We will never share your information with third parties.

Terms of Participation:

1. Film Length: Maximum 15 minutes, minimum 5 minutes, including credits.

2. Age Restriction: Directors must be between 13 and 30 years old

3. Submission Limit: One submission per director, per call. Additional submissions will not be considered.

4. Film Types: We accept Films, Fiction and Experimental Non-narrative Cinema.

5. Completion Date: Films must be completed after January 1, 2024.

6. Promotional Use: If chosen The Festival may promote your film on social media and use promotional materials for advertising purposes.

7. Submission Fee: $15 for early registration and $25 for late fee (paid through the website).

10. No Refunds: No refunds available after submission.

11. Copyright: Filmmakers are responsible for arranging copyrights and clearing permissions.

12. Jury: The selection jury will consist of five members.
