Cinema is a matter of what's in the frame and what's out.
Nawras Juma is an independent filmmaker located in Sweden. He started gaining experience when he was 13 years old and has developed a vast knowledge and understanding of various camcorders and DSLRs. His filmmaking journey began like any other filmmaker, capturing family events such as weddings, birthday parties, and other significant moments.
Nawras continued to pursue his passion for filming, persisting through both easy and challenging times. In addition to his filmmaking endeavors, Nawras also trained as a boxer. During his training, his coach imparted valuable advice, stating, 'If you want to become a professional boxer and reach the top, you need to punch the bag at least 10,000 times.' Inspired by this speech, Nawras applied the same principle to his filmmaking practice, vowing to continue filming until he reached the pinnacle and became a professional filmmaker.
To further his skills, Nawras made the decision to move to the UK and pursue a degree in filmmaking at Brighton University. He successfully completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in June 2018, gaining extensive knowledge in all the different roles within a film crew. Through his experiences, Nawras has learned how to think, act, and remain 100% motivated in each field.
Nawras's directorial debut was an excellent documentary about The West Pier in Brighton, a project he wrote, directed, and produced. This experience reinforced his belief that nothing is impossible in the world of filmmaking.

You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!
