Getting to see our corny horror film on the big screen and hearing all the laughs and applause was a dream come true. I very much enjoyed this festival and hope to show more of our ridiculous films in the future!

While the audience reaction was fun, the Nac Short Film Festival’s acceptance of AI slop (in the 2026 event) felt like a huge insult to the work other filmmakers and I did with our raw talent. The AI films were lazy, confusing, and lacked effort; I could point out every instance where AI was used for VFX, writing, animation, etc. Discussions in the lobby confirmed that practically everyone I spoke to disliked the AI submissions, which took away from the magic of the event. I’ll be avoiding the festival in the future unless AI work is rejected, as the networking/communication should be about the work people put in, not disappointment with what was accepted into the festival. To the organizers, if you’re reading this, please make a change.

Herb Midgley puts on a great festival in Nacogdoches and you couldn't ask for a more hospitable filmmaker to be a programmer there not to mention Herb's film "Rise of the Robots" is truly amazing and he is the voice of a generation in my humble opinion.

We were thrilled that our short Hold That Order was chosen to show in the festival. The festival was so much fun, and it was so exciting to watch the films on the giant screen.
