Participate in New Port Richey's first ever Film Festival!

New Port Richey, which was once billed as the "Hollywood of the East" is celebrating it's centennial this year. As part of the celebration, the New Port Richey Public Library is putting on a film festival / competition / screening. Categories are available for adults, teens and kids. Winners will be announced during a screening at the historic Richey Suncoast Theatre on Saturday, August 3rd.

There are over $1,200 in cash prizes.

Short films must be:
- motion pictures (no slide shows)
- shorter than 5 minutes in duration
- connected to New Port Richey, its culture, or its history (setting, characters, etc.)
- original and free of copyright restrictions; repurposed content (such as graphics, stock footage, and music) is allowed only if minimally used, properly licensed, and applicant(s) have obtained all necessary permissions
- in compliance with the Motion Picture Association's "G" rating

• Individuals or groups may submit a short film to one of three categories: 12 & younger, 13-17, 18 & older. All group members must meet the age requirements for the entry category.

• Participants grant the City of New Port Richey and New Port Richey Public Library all rights to the entries and agree that the entries may be displayed in entirety or partially and reproduced without limitation or compensation.

• The New Port Richey Public Library reserves the right in its sole discretion to reject or disqualify any ineligible entries.

• Limit one(1) entry per person or group.
