Organized by Ganesha Publishing House, the Mythology Short Film Festival is a brand-new cinematic initiative designed to bring a fresh, contemporary perspective to ancient narratives. After the success of our literary competitions, we are proud to launch the 1st edition of our film festival this year.
Our Mission: Mythology is not just about ancient gods or dusty legends; it is the core of human storytelling. We invite filmmakers from around the world to explore myths, legends, folklore, and archetypes through the lens of cinema.
What We Are Looking For: We are not looking for historical reenactments. We are looking for the "mythic spirit."
Does your story revisit an old legend in a modern city?
Is it a sci-fi interpretation of a hero's journey?
Or is it an experimental piece on human archetypes?
Regardless of the genre (Fiction, Animation, Experimental) or the setting (Past, Present, Future), if your film carries the soul of mythology, we want to see it.
The Venue: The finalist films will be screened on June 12-14 , 2026, at the prestigious Kült Kavaklıdere cinema in Ankara. The event will bring together directors, academics, and cinephiles for a night of screenings, talks, and an award ceremony.

Ganeşa Yayınevi tarafından düzenlenen Mitolojik Kısa Film Festivali, kadim anlatılara sinemanın gözüyle yeni ve çağdaş bir bakış açısı getirmeyi amaçlayan yeni bir oluşumdur. Edebiyat alanında gelenekselleşen yarışmalarımızın ardından, bu yıl film festivalimizin 1. edisyonunu hayata geçirmenin gururunu yaşıyoruz.
Misyonumuz: Mitoloji sadece antik tanrılardan veya tozlu efsanelerden ibaret değildir; insan hikayeciliğinin özüdür. Dünyanın dört bir yanından sinemacıları; mitleri, efsaneleri, halk hikayelerini ve arketipleri kameranın gücüyle yeniden yorumlamaya davet ediyoruz.
Ne Arıyoruz? Biz sadece tarihi dönem filmleri aramıyoruz. Biz "mitosun ruhunu" arıyoruz.
Hikayeniz eski bir efsaneyi modern bir şehirde mi canlandırıyor?
Kahramanın yolculuğunu bilimkurgu evreninde mi işliyor?
Yoksa insan arketipleri üzerine deneysel bir çalışma mı?
Türünden (Kurmaca, Animasyon, Deneysel) veya geçtiği zamandan (Geçmiş, Günümüz, Gelecek) bağımsız olarak; filminiz mitolojinin izlerini taşıyorsa, onu görmek istiyoruz.
Mekan: Finale kalan filmler, 12-14 Haziran 2026 tarihinde Ankara'nın kültürel hafızasında önemli bir yeri olan Kült Kavaklıdere sinemasında seyirciyle buluşacak. Etkinlik; gösterimler, söyleşiler ve ödül töreniyle yönetmenleri, akademisyenleri ve sinemaseverleri bir araya getirecek.
