Short film festival for independent film makers. We are specifically looking to promote amateur, student, first time/new film makers & community drama groups.

Films will be screened at Royal Manor Theatre, 138A Fortuneswell, DT5 1LT every three months throughout the year.

This is a very informal film festival. You'll get feedback from organisers and audience members in the bar after the screening.

This festival is for new and young film makers to screen their work and get some exposure. Feedback as judged by the audience on request. No cash prizes

Filmmakers should be independent film makers, new to film making, students, amateur groups, community groups looking for screening of their work.

  • The Isle of Portland Film Festival was a dream come true for a first time filmmaker like myself. Dan, the organiser of the festival is quite personable, great at communicating the process and was a pleasure to work with. I’m also thrilled with the exposure the festival has warranted.

Unfortunately we couldn't attend the screening of my short film 'Get Riel' from start to finish the organizers communicated well with us and were extremely helpful - looking forward to the screening in April of another of my films, it's a first for us to have 2 films selected, thank you so much

This is a great little festival for getting your short film out to a different audience. Surprisingly busy for a small town and everybody is extremely friendly. Also the Isle of Portland is an intriguing and beautiful place!
