1) SOBRE LA INSCRIPCIÓN
a) La inscripción a las 3 categorías de competencia internacional se realizará a través de la plataforma Filmfreeway. Las bases se podrán visualizar en nuestra web: https://cineflotante.org/.
b) La recepción de obras inicia el 6 de marzo a las 10:00 hrs y termina el 30 de abril a las 23:59 hrs (Hora Perú)
c) La inscripción solo para películas peruanas en las 3 categorías de competencia es gratuita y se realiza a través del siguiente formulario: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeNsxQdOm6MNVtjIbFdjpcs6Ws25aVF193vD9NEz3oCjmqNDA/viewform
d) El tarifario de inscripciones de acuerdo a las fechas establecidas de convocatorias son las siguientes:
i) fecha 1 gratuita: 6 - 15 de marzo 0 USD.
ii) fecha 2 regular: 16 de marzo - 4 de abril 3 USD.
iii) fecha 3 tarde: 5 - 25 de abril 5 USD.
e) La convocatoria está abierta para cineastas de cualquier parte del mundo, de larga o naciente trayectoria que hayan realizado su película con alguna temática relacionada a las selvas del mundo.
2) SOBRE LAS OBRAS DE CORTOMETRAJE
a) La duración de la obra no podrá exceder los 25 minutos, incluyendo créditos.
Se aceptan piezas audiovisuales para los géneros documental (no ficción) y ficción (en caso la obra no se haya realizado en español, deberá incluir subtítulos incrustados en el idioma mencionado).
b) Las temáticas de las películas deben estar relacionadas de manera directa o indirecta con las selvas del mundo. Se dará prioridad a todas las películas que toque temáticas sobre pueblos originarios selváticos, cambio climático y defensa del territorio.
c) Las obras deberán ser originales, realizadas después del 1 de enero de 2022.
d) Cada participante posee la libertad de enviar la cantidad de obras que considere conveniente, sin embargo, de obtener una selección, sólo se admitirá una (01) obra por autor/a, como parte de la selección oficial en una (01) de las categorías de competencia.
3) SOBRE LAS SECCIONES
a) La convocatoria de competencia para MUYUNA- Festival Internacional de Cine Selvático Flotante está abierta para las siguientes secciones:
i) Cortometraje Internacional de Ficción: Se considera obras de cortometraje de ficción selvático a todas las obras provenientes de zonas de selva a nivel mundial (incluido Perú) y que propongan una simulación de la realidad desde la mirada de sus autores, en relación con las selvas del mundo, transformándolas, recreándolas o proponiendo una realidad paralela enmarcada en el mencionado territorio, con un metraje breve.
ii) Cortometraje Internacional Documental (No ficción): Se considera cortometraje de no ficción selvático a todas las obras provenientes de zonas de selva a nivel mundial (incluido Perú) que se enmarquen en un hecho veraz y comprobable, extrayendo de la realidad circundante selvática, premisas fundamentales que se desarrollan en su obra a través de un metraje breve.
iii) Cortometraje Internacional Experimental: Se considera cortometraje experimental a todas las obras provenientes de zonas de selva a nivel mundial (incluido Perú) que proponen una disrupción del lenguaje formal cinematográfico y nuevas formas narrativas desde la exploración personal de los creadores, teniendo la selva como eje central.
Los días centrales del festival, las piezas seleccionadas se exhibirán ante el público en el barrio de Belén, contando para ello con un impresionante escenario- pantalla flotante.
b) A su vez, se contará con otras secciones no competitivas:
i) Muestra de Cine Flotante Comunitario en el Puerto de Masusa: Se proyectarán una serie de cortos pre producidos, producidos y post producidos en un viaje en lancha desde Pucallpa a Iquitos por una serie de cineastas nacionales.
ii) Muestra de Cine Selvático del Mundo: Se realizarán una serie de proyecciones en diversos espacios de la ciudad, las cuales incluirán conversatorios, premiaciones y otras actividades paralelas
iii) Muestra de Cine Comunitario en Belén: Se proyectarán en Belén los días centrales del festival los cortos generados en un taller de cine comunitario que se realizará transversalmente en el marco del evento.
4) SOBRE LA SELECCIÓN
a) El equipo de programación del festival, realizará en cada categoría una selección de las obras recibidas. Posteriormente, la terna de jurados, conformada por tres profesionales del audiovisual, evaluará las obras de acuerdo a su criterio. La decisión del jurado, es única e inapelable.
b) El jurado otorgará el reconocimiento a la mejor obra por categoría cinematográfica, también realizará menciones honrosas o distinciones técnicas, de considerarlas necesarias.
c) La selección oficial del jurado será comunicada el 13 de mayo del 2024, a través de las redes sociales y la página web del festival. El mismo día los seleccionados recibirán un correo con indicaciones a seguir.
d) Las obras seleccionadas deberán subir material de proyección y publicidad a la plataforma indicada en el correo de comunicación de selección, en un plazo no mayor a 3 días hábiles posteriores a la comunicación de selección, en formato .mov o .mp4, códec de video H.264 y en resolución Full HD 1920 x 1080. El material a subir se detalla en el siguiente listado:

- 3 fotogramas de la película
- 3 fotografías del making off
- 1 fotografía del director/a
iii) Ficha técnica
iv) Licencia de exhibición rellenada
v) Archivo de subtítulos en .srt en idioma español o inglés
e) Una vez seleccionada la obra en alguna categoría del festival, no podrá ser retirada de su programación.
f) Los/as autores/as de las obras seleccionadas ceden los derechos de comunicación pública al MUYUNA - Festival de Cine Selvático Flotante y otorgan su permiso para su exhibición virtual y presencial durante el marco del festival y en posteriores actividades de difusión (previa comunicación) que realice la organización.
g) Los/as autores/as de las obras que resulten ganadoras se comprometen a utilizar los laureles del festival en el respectivo material publicitario, exhibiciones o proyecciones futuras.
h) Los casos no previstos en las bases serán resueltos por MUYUNA - Festival de cine selvático flotante, en su calidad de ente organizador, el hecho de participar conlleva la aceptación total de las bases.

1) ABOUT THE SUBMISSION PROCESS

b) Submissions will be accepted between March 6 at 10:00 AM and April 30th at 11:59 PM (Peru Time - GMT-5)

d) The registration fee schedule, based on the designated submission periods, is as follows:
i) Free Deadline: March 6-15th 0 USD.
ii) Regular Deadline: March 16th-April 4th 3 USD.
iii) Late Deadline: April 5-25th 5 USD.
e) The call is open to filmmakers from anywhere in the world, from experienced directors to emerging creators whose work explores the realities of life in jungle cities and a changing world.
2) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
a) Films must not exceed 30 minutes in length, including credits.
b) Acceptable genres include both documentary (non-fiction) and fiction.
c) Films not in Spanish must include embedded Spanish or English subtitles.
d) The film's themes should be directly or indirectly related to the world's jungles, with a preference for topics like indigenous jungle communities, climate change, and territorial defense.
e) Films must be original and produced after January 1st, 2023.
f) Filmmakers can submit multiple entries, but only one film per author will be selected for the festival.
g) Submissions must be made by the film's owner, director, or a member of the production team to ensure proper authorization and representation.
3) COMPETITION CATEGORIES
The Muyuna Floating Jungle Film Festival has both competitive and non-competitive categories for submissions.
a) COMPETITIVE: The Muyuna Floating Jungle Film Festival invites entries for its competition in the following categories. During the central days of the festival, the selected pieces from these categories will be screened for the public of the Belén neighborhood, featuring an impressive floating stage-screen.
i) International Fiction Short Film: This category is open to short fiction films from jungles across the globe, Peru included. These films are expected to creatively interpret reality from the perspective of their creators, in connection with the world's jungles. These films transform, recreate, or suggest parallel realities within the mentioned territory, all within a concise format.
ii) International Documentary Short Film (Non-fiction): This segment accepts documentary shorts originating from jungle regions around the world, including Peru. Films in this category should be grounded in factual and verifiable events, drawing essential insights from the intricacies of life in these ecosystems to encapsulate the reality of the jungle in a brief, yet impactful documentary form.
iii) International Experimental Short Film: Open to experimental shorts from jungles globally, including Peru, this category seeks works that defy traditional cinematic forms, proposing a disruption of formal cinematic language and new narrative forms through the personal exploration of the creators, with the jungle as a central axis.
b) NON-COMPETITIVE: Additionally, The Muyuna - International Floating Jungle Film Festival invites submissions for the following non-competitive categories:
i) Community Floating Film Showcase at the Masusa Port: A series of works in progress and completed short films will be screened during a boat journey from Pucallpa to Iquitos by a group of Peruvian filmmakers.
ii) World Jungle Film Showcase: A series of screenings will take place in various spaces throughout Iquitos, alongside discussions, awards ceremonies, and other parallel activities
iii) Community Film Showcase in Belén: A community cinema workshop will take place in parallel to the film festival and the short films created in the workshop will be showcased and screened at the end of the festival.
4) SELECTION PROCESS
a) The festival programming team will make a selection of the received works in each category. Subsequently, the jury panel, consisting of three audiovisual professionals, will evaluate the works according to their criteria. The decision of the jury is final and cannot be appealed.
b) The jury will award recognition to the best work in each film category. They may also give honorable mentions or technical distinctions if they are necessary.
c) The jury's official selection will be announced on May 13th, 2024, through social media and the festival's website. On the same day, the selected participants will receive an email with instructions to follow.
d) The selected works must upload projection and publicity materials to the platform specified in the selection communication email within a period of no more than 3 business days after the selection communication, in .mov or .mp4 format, H.264 video codec, and in Full HD resolution 1920 x 1080. e) Once a work is selected in any category of the festival, it cannot be withdrawn from its programming. By submitting their works to the Muyuna - Floating Film Festival, the creators of the selected films automatically grant the festival the rights for public display. This includes both in-person showings during the festival and any virtual exhibitions. Additionally, creators authorize the festival to use film stills, posters, and clips for promotional activities on our social media platforms, website and other marketing channels, with prior notification to the individual who submitted the film.
f) The authors of the winning works commit to using the festival laurels in the respective promotional material, exhibitions, or future screenings.
g) Unforeseen cases in the rules will be resolved by Muyuna Floating Jungle Film Festival team, as the organizing entity. The act of participating implies the full acceptance of the rules.
