La Universidad Estatal a Distancia a través del Centro Agenda Joven en Derechos y Ciudadanía en apoyo al fomento de la promoción juvenil de producción audiovisual y en el marco de su especial atención a la población joven, inicia su XIII Muestra “Cortos de la Polis Joven” que tiene como objetivo general incentivar la promoción audiovisual en Costa Rica por medio de una cultura de expresión visual del imaginario creativo de los jóvenes y su cotidianidad costarricense.
El objetivo de la Realización de la XII Muestra “Cortos de la Polis Joven” es la de presentar las propuestas al público de la UNED y a la comunidad en general para fomentar y desarrollar la producción y cultura cinematográfica nacional. De la mano con ello, resulta importante para la muestra la creación de un espacio en donde se pueda discutir críticamente cómo han cambiado a través del tiempo las percepciones jóvenes de la cotidianeidad y distintas temáticas políticas y sociales de la región.
Finalmente, otro de los objetivos es el de sensibilizar a la población joven hacia la producción, exhibición y creación de obras audiovisuales y el arte en general como un medio para comunicar ideas y realizar experimentaciones.
****Temática de la muestra: Celebrando los derechos humanos
****Subtema: Movilidades y migraciones humanas
El tema por desarrollarse en la XIII Muestra “Cortos de la Polis Joven” será "Celebrando los Derechos Humanos" e incluirá un eje temático especial llamado "Migraciones y movilidades humanas".
En cuanto al tema "Celebrando los Derechos Humanos", se recibirán producciones referidas a cualquier temática, que en alguna forma expresen la importancia de garantizar, reivindicar y vivenciar cotidianamente los Derechos Humanos (por ejemplo, educación, política, multiculturalismo, medioambiente, sexualidades, el derecho a decidir, dignidad humana, igualdad social, entre otros).
El eje temático especial "Migraciones y movilidades humanas" busca recibir documentales, o bien, audiovisuales que construyan sus producciones en torno a las condiciones que explican los procesos migratorios, las circunstancias en las cuales las personas migrantes realizan el tránsito migratorio, la situación de las personas migrantes en los países de tránsito y de acogida. Además, la situación de respeto a sus Derechos Humanos y del Derecho a Migrar.
Solo serán tomadas en cuenta las primeras 100 producciones que ingresen por FilmFreeway.

The "Universidad Estatal a Distancia" (UNED) through the "Centro Agenda Joven en Derechos y Ciudadanía" in support of the young audiovisual producers and filmmakers and its special attention of the young population in the country starts the XII Muestra Audiovisual “Cortos de la polis Joven”. The event has the objective of incentivize the audiovisual promotion in Costa Rica trough a culture of visual expression of the creative imaginary of the young costa rican people and its daily experiences.
“Cortos de la Polis Joven” has the goal to present the productions to all kind of publics in the university and to the local and international community in general to foment and develop a costa rican cinematographic production and culture. It is important to us to open a space to discuss how the perceptions of young people changes over time about politics, social issues, the daily life in the country, and other related topics about the region.
Finally, another objective is to sensibilize the young people about the production, exhibition and creation of audiovisual works and the art in general as medium to communicate ideas and realize experimentations.

The theme to be developed in theXIII Short Film Showcase “Cortos de la Polis Joven”will be "Celebrating Human Rights" and will include a special thematic axis called "Migrations and human mobility". Regarding the theme "Celebrating Human Rights", productions will be received referring to any theme, which in some way express the importance of guaranteeing, claiming and experiencing Human Rights on a daily basis (for example,education, politics, multiculturalism, environment, sexualities, the right to decide, humandignity, social equality, among others)
The special thematic axis "Migrations and human mobilities" seeks to receive documentaries, or audiovisuals based or conceived their productions around theconditions that explain the migratory processes, the circumstances in which migrantscarry out migratory transit, the situation of migrants in transit and host countries. Further, the situation of respect for their Human Rights and the Right to Migrate.
Only the first 100 films send by FilmFreeway will be taking in count for the festival.
A las producciones ganadoras se les otorgará un certificado que especificará su galardón.
The winning productions will obtain a certificate given by the organization of the event.
