ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Mitee 'ENVIRONMENT' Short Film and Documentary Festival !!!

The Mitee 'Environment' Short Film and Documentary Festival is a vibrant platform dedicated to nurturing young and emerging filmmakers across India, with a special focus on youth. Organized by the Mitee Film Society, the festival aims to spotlight talented creators whose voices and visions may otherwise go unheard.

Now in its fifth year, the festival continues its mission of promoting socially conscious cinema. We are committed to showcasing short films and documentaries that inspire, inform, and engage audiences—especially the next generation of storytellers.

Each year, films are carefully selected by a panel of esteemed professionals from the creative industry, ensuring that only the finest work is featured. Selected films will be screened during the three-day festival, culminating in an Awards Ceremony honoring excellence in several categories.

Festival Theme: ENVIRONMENT

To mark the 5th anniversary, this year’s edition is dedicated entirely to the theme of the 'ENVIRONMENT'. All participating films must focus on environmental issues—ranging from awareness and education to solutions and sustainable practices. The goal is to inspire action and promote a deeper connection with nature through the medium of film.

'Special Category Awards' will be given in the following themes:

1. Indian Tradition and the Environment (भारतीय परंपरा और पर्यावरण)
2. Sant Sahitya and Environment (संतसाहित्य और पर्यावरण)
3. Eco-Friendly Lifestyle (पर्यावरणपूरक जीवनशैली)

Knowledge Sharing & Industry Interaction :

As part of our broader vision, the festival will host 'Panel Discussions and Masterclasses' featuring renowned filmmakers and documentary creators. These sessions will delve into various aspects of film-making and storytelling, providing valuable insights and mentorship for aspiring creators. The goal is not just to compete, but to learn, grow, and collaborate.

Community Access :

The entire event—including screenings, seminars, workshops, and the award ceremony—will be 'open to the public and completely free of charge'. We believe that art should be accessible to all, and we welcome anyone with an interest in socially relevant cinema to be a part of this celebration.
