Migration Film Fest is Bangladesh’s first film festival dedicated to stories of migration, safe movement, and the human realities behind crossing borders.

Organized by the BRAC Migration Programme with support from the Australian Border Force , the festival invites students, young filmmakers, and emerging storytellers to submit fiction, documentary, animation, or mobile-shot films focused on migration, human trafficking, irregular migration, migrant exploitation, and the emotional journeys of families left behind.

Selected films will be screened in Dhaka in June 2026, followed by panel discussions and Q&A sessions.

Winners will receive exciting prizes including:

3rd Prize: GoPro Camera

1. Films must be within 15 minutes, including opening and closing credits.

2. The film must be related to migration, including themes such as safe migration, migrant experiences, human trafficking, people smuggling, exploitation, family separation, or similar issues.

3. All genres are accepted, including fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films.

4. Films may be shot using mobile phones, cameras, or any digital device.

5. The submitted film must be the original work of the applicant, and all rights for footage, music, and visuals must be cleared by the filmmaker.

6. Films in any language are accepted; however, English subtitles are mandatory for non-English dialogue.

7. Multiple submissions are allowed, but each film must be submitted separately.

8. Selected films may be screened at the Migration Film Fest in Dhaka and may also be considered for awareness campaigns, educational screenings, television, and digital platforms with proper credit.

9. The festival reserves the right to use film stills, clips, posters, and trailers for promotional purposes.

10. Submission of a film means the filmmaker accepts all festival rules and the final decision of the selection committee and jury.
