Michele Sammarco was born in 1991 in the province of Padua (Italy) where he lives and works. After a degree in Visual and Performing Arts at IUAV University of Venice he graduated in Film Direction at Civica Scuola di Cinema Luchino Visconti of Milan (CILECT member school). His works stem from a rediscovery of popular culture in the rural world of his lands: the regions of veneto and puglia. His films have taken part in international festivals including Visions du Réel, DOK Leipzig, IsReal. He currently collaborates with the Oral History Laboratory of the University of Padua and is an expert trainer for the CiPS project - Cinema and Images for Schools, promoted by the Ministries of Education and Culture in Italy.
