Miami Women Film Festival is an international online film festival and script competition dedicated to promoting, recognizing, and supporting female voices in cinema.

Over the past few years, we have successfully selected and nominated female artists in media who have joined our team as award winners, jury members, and festival programmers. Our mission is to discover and promote female directors, producers, actors, cinematographers, and editors working across various genres in both fiction and documentary.

In every edition, the festival team confidently nominates and promotes projects to film industry members through diverse digital platforms. We are passionate about the language of cinema and firmly believe in the power of women in film and media. Our festival offers a robust platform for independent women filmmakers to showcase their work and gain recognition and support as indie filmmakers and artists.

We are actively seeking talented female directors, producers, screenwriters, cinematographers, and editors in all genres that inspire and challenge the cinematic language. Additionally, we are looking for actresses to compete in our acting contest and gain further recognition on IMDb and through our platform. The Miami Women Film Festival is dedicated to amplifying female voices.

This was my first nomination; you never forget your first. I was unsure about this little movie with so many previous rejections, but this was truly a motivating selection.

  • Hi, I’m following up regarding Fireside, listed on your winners page as Best Indie Film. I emailed on May 4 and May 11 but have not received any response regarding laurels, certificate, physical award information, or FilmFreeway status. I also noticed that your FilmFreeway page is featuring my personal photo and film poster. I would really appreciate an update.

Getting selected by Miami Women Film Festival was a highlight. It is the third festival our film gets into, on another side of the globe (afterTokyo) and it strengthened our belief that our film , They Call Lambs Heroes, touches cross cultural audiences, and has a story which, though set in Nigeria, has no borders . Thank you again for this special recognition, and for the work you do - it plays an important role in women’s cinema worldwide.
