Miami Projections: A Showcase of What’s Next in Film, Animation & Digital Media is a shorts festival presented by Miami Media and Film Market (MMFM). The festival will have its inaugural showcase at the 2024 MMFM conference on July 14th and 15th at The Biltmore Hotel's Conference Center of the Americas in Miami, FL. Miami Projections aims to showcase short length audiovisual projects, including films, teasers, concept videos, pitch reels, and other types of short form media which have specifically been made as a steppingstone towards creating a longer form (episode or feature length) content.

These entries will be screened with the intention to pitch these shorter projects to global TV, film representatives, executives, top industry professionals and decision makers who will be attending the MMFM conference in July and will be exposed to all of these projects. This is all with the express intent of generating mutual interest in creating something larger out of the original short form media projects. In addition, we will be inviting the local Miami community to be among the first to experience a creator's work and vision.

The winning entries will be awarded with a special "Golden Orange Award" at the closing reception. Also, these entries will be showcased to our local, national and international network of film, TV, and animation professionals including major producers and executives. We will expose that winning content to major decision makers. This will be one more tool available to content developers to get their project done.

All genres of short audiovisual content are accepted, although emphasis will be placed on shorts, concept videos, and animated works (including demos for video games and interactive content) with the intention of the content creator to develop the material into a feature length film, full episodic series, animation feature or series, and/or video game concept. Preference will also be given to local Miami area stories, filmmakers and producers.

The maximum length of a submission should be no more than 15 minutes.
The films must include English subtitles (unless the spoken language is English).

For public screenings, the preferably accepted format is full HD mov and mp4 files.

By submitting the film, the submitter agrees that:
1. Miami Projections can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills or BTS for promotional purpose.
2. Entry fees are non-refundable.
3. The submitter owns all the rights to the film, including music, soundtracks, etc., meaning the submitted work (i) does not violate or infringe any copyright, patent, privacy right, publicity right, trademark, service mark or any other personal or property right of any person or entity, that (ii) does not constitute or include a defamation of any person or entity, and that (iii) its representatives have paid and will pay in full all license fees, clearance fees, and other obligations, of any kind, arising from or associated with the exhibition of the Film at or in connection with the Festival. Also, that the submitter is duly authorized, on his own behalf and on behalf of all other persons or entities who have any ownership rights or interests (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights) in or relating to the film, to exhibit the film at the Festival.
4. The submitter cannot withdraw the submission after the official selection announcement.
