El Festival Internacional de Cine de Mérida y Yucatán - FICMY Merida & Yucatan International Film Festival, convoca a productores y realizadores de todo el mundo para que inscriban sus películas en las secciones en competencia y fuera de competencia de la Onceava Edición del Festival, que se llevará a cabo del 20 al 25 de noviembre de 2026.
SECCIONES.
COMPETENCIA
LARGOMETRAJE IBEROAMERICANO DE FICCIÓN
Duración mínima de 60 minutos incluyendo créditos.
Serán considerados los largometrajes de ficción con producción y/o coproducción Iberoamericana finalizados entre los años 2025 y 2026.
LARGOMETRAJE IBEROAMERICANO DOCUMENTAL
Duración mínima de 60 minutos incluyendo créditos.
Serán considerados los largometrajes documentales con producción y/o coproducción Iberoamericana finalizados entre los años 2025 y 2026.
Nota: sin excepciones, todos los trabajos en competencia de la Sección Iberoamericana deberán estar subtitulados en español si su idioma original es distinto al castellano, y subtitulados en inglés si su idioma original es en español.
CORTOMETRAJE IBEROAMERICANO FICCIÓN/DOCUMENTAL
Duración mínima de 5 minutos y máxima de 30 minutos incluyendo créditos.
Serán considerados los cortometrajes de ficción y/o documental con producción y/o coproducción iberoamericana finalizados entre los años 2025 y 2026.
LARGOMETRAJE MEXICANO DE FICCIÓN
Duración mínima de 60 minutos incluyendo créditos.
Serán considerados los largometrajes de ficción con producción y/o coproducción mexicana finalizados entre los años 2025 y 2026.
LARGOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL IN LAK’ ECH (IN LAAK ECH) FICCIÓN/DOCUMENTAL
Duración mínima de 60 minutos incluyendo créditos.
Serán considerados los largometrajes de ficción y/o documental producidos en cualquier parte del mundo finalizados entre los años 2025 y 2026. In Laak Ech es lengua maya y en español significa Yo soy otro Tú, Esta sección tiene como temática, rescatar, preservar, fortalecer, difundir los valores, principios, tradiciones, costumbres,
idiomas originarios, expresiones artísticas y la gran diversidad de los pueblos de todo el mundo.
FUERA DE COMEPTENCIA
LARGOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL FICCIÓN/DOCUMENTAL
Duración mínima de 60 minutos incluyendo créditos.
Serán considerados los largometrajes de ficción y/o documental producidos y/o
coproducidos en cualquier parte del mundo finalizados entre los años 2025 y 2026.
Nota: sin excepciones, todos las películas deberán estar subtituladas en español si su idioma original es distinto al castellano y subtitulados en inglés si su idioma original es en español. Así como contar con su película en formato DCP.
Las inscripciones cierran el lunes 31 de agosto de 2026 a las 20:00 horas (tiempo local de la Ciudad de México).
BASES Y REQUISITOS DE INSCRIPCIÓN
1.- Inscribirse a través de la plataforma FilmFreeway:
2.- Las inscripciones serán a partir de la publicación de esta convocatoria y hasta las 20:00 horas del 31 de agosto de 2026..
3.- No se aceptarán trabajos que se inscriban después del cierre de esta convocatoria.
4.- Los links y contraseñas de todos los trabajos inscritos deberán permanecer vigentes desde el día de su inscripción y hasta el día en que finalice el festival..
5.- La selección de los trabajos inscritos estará a cargo de un comité conformado por experimentados miembros de la industria audiovisual, y su decisión será inapelable.
6.- Los resultados oficiales de las películas seleccionadas en competencia y fuera de competencia, se darán a conocer el día 25 de septiembre de 2026 en las redes sociales del festival.
7.- Una vez aceptada su participación, las películas no podrán ser retiradas del festival.
8.- El formato de proyección aceptado por el festival es DCP.
9.- En caso de que el envío del DCP sea en físico, los gastos de envío ida/vuelta de las copias de proyección correrán a cuenta de los participantes.
10.- En ningún caso el festival pagará por screening fees (derechos de exhibición) de las películas seleccionadas.
11.- El FICMY podrá utilizar extractos de hasta un minuto de las películas seleccionadas para fines de promoción y difusión durante el Festival.
12.- Por cuestiones presupuestales, el festival no ofrece transporte ni hospedaje a los representantes de las películas seleccionadas.
13.- Los trabajos seleccionados podrán formar parte de muestras nacionales e internacionales en las que participe el FICMY durante 2026 y 2027.
14.- El jurado estará conformado por reconocidos miembros de la industria audiovisual y su decisión será inapelable.
15.- El jurado tiene la facultad de otorgar menciones honoríficas.
16.- El FICMY se reserva el derecho de modificar la presente convocatoria según lo crea conveniente.

IBERO-AMERICAN FICTION/DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM
Minimum running time of 5 minutes and maximum running time of 20 minutes including credits.
Fiction and documentary short films with Ibero-American production and/or co-production completed between 2025 and 2026 will be considered.
Note: Without exception, all Ibero-American short films must be subtitled in Spanish if their original language is different from Spanish, and subtitled in English if their original language is Spanish.
MEXICAN FICTION FEATURE FILM.
Minimum running time of 60 minutes including credits.
Fiction feature films with Mexican production and/or co-production completed between 2025 and 2026 will be considered.
Note: without exceptions, all competing works of the Mexican Section require to be subtitled in Spanish language if their original language is different from Spanish, and subtitled in English if their original language is in Spanish.
IN LAK' ECH INTERNATIONAL FICTION/DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILM
Minimum duration of 60 minutes including credits.
Fiction and/or documentary feature films produced anywhere in the world completed between 2025 and 2026 will be considered. This section is only for films that address as their main theme the dissemination and preservation of the territories, languages, customs and traditions of the native peoples.
Note: Without exception, all feature films from this section must be subtitled in Spanish if their original language is different from Spanish, and subtitled in English if their original language is Spanish.
OUT OF COMPETITION
INTERNATIONAL FICTION/DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILM
Minimum duration of 60 minutes including credits.
Fiction and/or documentary feature films produced anywhere in the world completed between 2025 and 2026 will be considered.
Note: Without exception, all feature films from this section must be subtitled in Spanish if their original language is different from Spanish, and subtitled in English if their original language is Spanish.
BASES AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
1.- Register through the FilmFreeway platform:
2.- Submissions will be from the publication of this call until August 31, 2026 at 20:00 hours (Mexico time).
3.- Works that register after the closing of this call will not be accepted.
4.- The links and passwords of all registered works must remain valid from the day of registration and until the day the festival ends.
5.- The selection of the registered works will be in charge of a committee formed by experienced members of the audiovisual industry, and their decision will be final.
6.- The official results of the films selected in competition and out of competition will be announced in September 25, 2026 in the festival's social media.
7.- Once selected, films may not be removed from the festival program.
8.- The screening format accepted by the festival is DCP.
9.- If you choose to send a physical DCP, the shipping costs (inbound/outbound) of the projection copies will be borne by the participants.
10.-In no case the festival will pay for screening fees (exhibition rights) of the selected films.
11.- FICMY may use extracts of up to one minute of the films selected for promotion and dissemination purposes during the festival.
12.-For budgetary reasons, the festival does not offer transportation or lodging to the representatives of the selected films.
13.- The selected works may be part of national and international samples in which the FICMY participates during 2026 and 2027.
14.- The jury will be made up of recognized members of the audiovisual industry and their decision will be final.
15.- The jury has the right to grant honorable mentions.
16.- The festival reserves the right to modify this call as it deems appropriate.
