Originally established as the emerging filmmakers open screening in May of 2024, the now Manitoba Emerging Filmmakers Festival aims to bring together student and emerging filmmakers across Manitoba to showcase each other's work and build community.

Q: Who qualifies as an emerging filmmaker?
A: Student, recent grad, or filmmaker in their first few years of development

Awards & Prizes

A jury will make a selection of films to participate in a 3 day local screening event.

Rules & Terms

In order to be eligible to submit to the Manitoba Emerging Filmmakers Festival:

1. You must be Emerging or Student Filmmaker
2. You must be based in Manitoba, Canada
3. Maximum length restriction of 12 min.
4. Submitted project cannot be completed before 2024.
5. In order to submit, you must either be the writer, director or producer of the submitted work.
