The Manilla Reel Change Film Festival is a not-for-profit monthly community screening of independent documentary films that spark conversation about climate change and initiate local action. Each month our judges will select the projects that make the best impact on them as they go through every entry. Definition on films eligible films for screening is listed in the Rules & Terms*.

Each and every Monthly Selection will receive our Official Selection Laurels in a digital format.

- Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles.

- Films must have been made after January 1, 2019.

- Short documentary films MUST be between 1 minute and 20 minutes.

- Feature-length documentaries MUST be between 60 minutes and 120 minutes.

Submitting to the festival grants us the right to show your film and to use your film information and stills in our publicity.

The selected films will have to send the supplementary material when contacted by the Festival:
- A high resolution film poster.
- A short synopsis of the film.
- Digital photo of the director and a short biography (maximum 200 characters).

WHAT WE ACCEPT:
1. Documentary feature films on climate change and environmentalism (non-fiction).
2. Documentary short films on climate change and environmentalism (non-fiction).

WHAT WE DON’T ACCEPT:
1. Propaganda content from religious or political organizations.
2. Films involving politics / films promoting political agenda.
3. Films with a poor production standard (bad sound, lack of subtitles/captions for non-English films, video resolution less than 720p HD).

*Films eligible for screenings MUST have a connection to the topic of climate change; qualifying films can include, but are not limited to, subjects on global warming, nature, wildlife, agriculture, activism, education, climate technology, climate policy options, climate change denial and misinformation, climate history, impacts of social and racial injustice related to climate change, and climate health impacts.

MRC Film Fest is aiming for a late January start date but will be monitoring any upcoming public health recommendations and guidelines concerning COVID-19.
