Thanks, Monsters! The Film Festival will return in a different form! Stay tuned. =)

Created in 2012, the Mad Monster Party Film Festival is a competition festival which programs brand-new genre feature and short films from around the world. The festival seeks submissions for horror, science fiction, and fantasy.

The 2012 festival hosted the first-ever public screening of the "Cabal Cut" of Clive Barker's Nightbreed and we have discovered new and amazing works every year since. More than 300 features and shorts have screened at the festival in its seven-year run.

Will your film join the list of cult favorites that have premiered at the event including FOUND, Maniac (2013), The Return to Return to Class of Nuke 'em High, and Dave Ellefson's DWELLERS? Submit today to find out.

The festival is a great place for artists to network. Filmmakers will receive passes for their cast and crew to attend the event.

The organizers are very nice people who are really responsive and excited about what they do. It was also an awesome gesture to give 2 full-weekend convention passes to each selected filmmaker.

The film festival itself felt less like a festival and more like just a room at the back of a horror convention that’s showing films. That may sound like semantics, but it really didn’t feel like an event. It felt like an afterthought.

Attendance was really really low for the handful of short film blocks I attended. The packed convention sadly did not translate to a decent viewership here.

Obviously the organizers can’t control who wanders into the screening room, but it was definitely under-advertised. I had trouble finding the room even when I was actively looking for it.

All in all, this wasn’t a bad event — but it fell short of its potential. Some awesome films screened here and it was an honor to be included beside them.

It was an honor to have had our film STALAG III-C selected for the 2023 Mad Monster Party Film Festival. I hope to attend in person in the future. Thanks to Jamie and the whole team!

It was an honor to have my film, The Devil's Tromping Ground, screened at Mad Monster Party Film Festival. But you want to know something? I think I'd have attended even if it wasn't. The entire event was sensory overload. We had a blast!
