Since 2015, Montanha Pico Festival celebrates mountain culture through arts programming and film festival. All works must be mountain-themed or set on mountains around the world.
Feature length and shorts are accepted from all film & video genres. All works must be in Portuguese or English language, or embedded subtitled in Portuguese or English.
Fiction, Documentaries, Video-Art, Animation - ALL WELCOMED! But, make sure it has a mountain theme or scenery, in order to qualify for festival.

VENUES: Auditório da Madalena, Auditório do Museu dos Baleeiros, Auditório Municipal das Lajes do Pico, Auditório EBS São Roque do Pico.

Awards & Prizes

All chosen films receive the OFFICIAL SELECTION laurel.
Festival Awards are attributed by the artistic director and committee. Local support is provided to filmmakers that are able to get to the island mountain of Pico-Azores, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and present the film.

Rules & Terms

All works submitted have the chance to be showcased and are up for the award. All films must be mountain-themed or set on mountain scenery.
MiratecArts is the organization that presents the Montanha Pico Festival.
MiratecArts projects and festivals are open to all.
Rules are simple. You submit, you have a chance to be showcased at the festival with listings on the web and the printed program magazine. Listings will be announced online, on the festival page. THE FESTIVAL IS IN THEATRE, not online.

Films arrive at the Montanha Pico Festival without cost to the festival via email link to vimeo, youtube, or other downloadable platform, with your film and contact details.

By submitting, the artist/filmmaker/producer is giving rights to MiratecArts and its partners to present the film (once) at the festival, without any further costs.

Filmmakers wanting to be present at screening will have local support from the festival. Local support = on Pico island, Azores.
