## **Rules & Terms**
By submitting your film to **MOD Fest – Minority Open Days 2026**, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

**1. Eligibility & Themes**
- MOD Fest welcomes films that **focus on minority-related topics** (ethnic, national, linguistic, religious, gender, LGBTQ+, or other marginalized groups) or are **created by filmmakers from minority communities**.
- Films from all over the world are eligible for submission.
- Films must have been completed after **January 1, 2024**.
- All film genres are accepted: fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental films.
- Films previously screened at other festivals are welcome.

**2. Submission Categories**
- **Short Film** (up to 30 minutes)
- **Feature Film** (30+ minutes)
- **National (Montenegro), Regional (Balkans), and International Films**
- **Fiction and Documentary Films**
-- **3. Language & Subtitles**
- Films in languages other than **English or Montenegrin** must include **English subtitles**.
- Subtitles must be **embedded** in the film file or provided as a separate .SRT file.

### **4. Submission & Deadlines**

📅 **Notification Date:** March 23, 2026
- All submissions must be made via **FilmFreeway**.
- The festival does **not accept physical submissions** (DVDs, USBs).

**5. Submission Fees**
**Free submissions for:**
✅ **Filmmakers from Montenegro**
✅ **Filmmakers from minority communities**
✅ **Students of film schools (must provide proof of enrollment)**
- **6. Selection & Notification**
- Films will be selected by an **independent jury** of film professionals.
- Selected films will be announced by **March 23, 2026**.
- The festival does not pay screening fees for selected films.

### **7. Screening Format & Technical Requirements**
- Selected films must be provided in one of the following formats:
🎥 **.MP4 / .MOV (HD or higher resolution)**
🎥 **DCP (for cinema screenings, if required)**
- The festival reserves the right to **screen selected films online or in physical venues**.
**8. Rights & Permissions**
- By submitting a film, the applicant confirms that they have the **legal right** to do so.
- The filmmaker **grants the festival** the right to use promotional material, trailers, and stills for marketing purposes.
- The festival may use **up to 30 seconds** of the film for promotional purposes.
- The festival does **not assume any responsibility** for unauthorized use of copyrighted material in submitted films.

**9. Festival Attendance**
- The festival encourages selected filmmakers to **attend in person**, but travel costs will not be covered, but accomodation will be arranged.
**10. Agreement & Acceptance**
- By submitting your film to MOD Fest, you **fully agree** to the festival’s rules and terms.
- The festival reserves the right to make changes to the program, dates, and venues if necessary.
