LusOFest is a regional festival for Portuguese-language film in Offenbach am Main. It shows a small selection of feature films, short films and documentaries from the Portuguese-speaking world, known as the Lusophone. The first edition will take place in January 2025 at Filmklubb Offenbach and is themed "Once Upon a Time: The Revolution"

The LusOFest aims to provide a platform for young filmmakers. Therefore, there is a short film competition (for films under 20 minutes long) for Portuguese-language films and films that are technically related to Offenbach or the Rhine-Main region. There will be a jury prize and an audience award. Film submissions are free of charge. We also accept films from amateurs and students. The prize money for winning films in the first year is 150 euros.

The submitted film should be under 20 minutes long. It should have a linguistic (dialogue, subtitles) or production-related reference (location, production, plot) to a Portuguese-speaking country or, alternatively, to the city or district of Offenbach or the Rhine-Main region.

Further information: Amateur films, school projects, graduation films are explicitly allowed and encouraged. Music videos can also be considered, provided they are of appropriate quality. The year of production is not a deciding factor for participation in the current festival edition.
