Love Out Loud! (LOL!) is the official film festival during SDS Conference, a conference born out of the desire to create a safe space in the Southeast where BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ people can explore intimacy and sensuality in an educational setting, freely.
LOL! craves creative films that prioritize and celebrate diverse groups of people. All people - People of color, disabled people, chronically ill people, neurodivergent people, bodyminds, kinky folks, etc - this list could go on forever. All people deserve a pleasurable existence and we want to witness it.
We‘re seeking broader images of black love, bodies, pleasure, intimacy, and connection to be represented in this year’s festival.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: March 1, 2024
FILM FESTIVAL: Thursday September 5, 2024 from 10:00am - until
LOL! is during SDS Conference in Atlanta, GA
AWARDS CEREMONY: Friday, September 6, 2024 at 7:00pm
All accepted films get a weeks run on Sex Down South's homepage and shares to SDS networks with a social reach of 50K+ impressions.
The winning submission will receive a Dandie Award and best film trophy.
