Our mission is to celebrate and spotlight trans filmmakers with a non competition-based lens. We aim to be an accessible festival and event to the community, cast, and crews of these films. We are trans led production.

Founded by Mustard Boys Productions.

After an AMAZING one-night year 2 with event showcasing 2 hours of trans-led films with Streaming the weekend end after ; it’s clear how fast this is growing! As we gear up for a larger year-3, we accept shorts, TV episodes, features, and screenplays. We welcome fiction, non-fiction, and experimental media of all genres.

About us:
In March 2025, we held our first festival night at Akbar in Los Angeles. We completely filled the screening room! Entry was free to keep it accessible to the community, we had trans and NB vendors selling goods, and social networking/dance party continued after the screening until 2am. The screening time was about 2 hours long and we showcased fiction and nonfiction shorts, multi-lingual films, experimental works, trailers for features, and episodes of a webseries. We had first-time and career filmmakers alike! 2026 was a sold out success where 150 folks showed up at the door and 576 viewers joined our online streaming of the event!

We are also supporting a block of shorts Dec 11th 2025 at Akbar specifically for BIPOC trans and NB filmmakers.

If selected, we will promo you on our socials and connect you with our working networks - we are community after all! Your film will also receive our festival laurels. If selected or honorably mentioned, we will connect you with our partners Red Coral Universe and Big Lettuce Entertainment for potential streaming and distribution. We work with filmmakers and their timelines.

All films must be Trans-led (writer, director, DP, and/or producer), and made by trans cast/crew. If multiple crew and cast members are trans, please be sure to highlight that! Content does not have to be about trans people or subjects.

In these days where trans folks are under attack, the LATNBFF is a shot of pure trans and queer joy to the soul! It was an honor for our pilot to be in the company of such high-quality, creative, groundbreaking, and fully queer films selected for this year's festival. I'm looking forward to watching this festival grow and become THE trans/NB/queer festival to be a part of. Thanks so much for including One For The Team!
