Los Angeles Show Biz Shriners Film Festival is run by the Al Malaikah Show Business Shrine Club, proudly showcasing inspiring films of all genres, short comedy films, silent films, student films and other family-friendly content. And the best part, you don’t need to be a Shriner to enter and take part in our festival. .

As history serves, six decades ago, in 1958, Al Malaikah Shriners of Los Angeles who were in the Show Business industry formed the "Show Business Shrine Club of Hollywood." The Club members at that time were "active as a professional, in any phase, in the world of entertainment" and was based in the world-famous Shrine Temple and Auditorium, former venue for the Academy Awards. The "Show Business Shrine Club of Hollywood" included as members motion picture director Mervyn LeRoy (first President of the Club), Mel Blanc (voice of "Bugs Bunny"), western stars Roy Rogers and Gene Autry, actors Ernest Borgnine, Don DeFore, and Glen Ford, and many more. This rich tradition continues with Los Angeles Show Biz Shriners Film Festival, following the vision of its founders. Our work benefits Shriners Children's.

Los Angeles Show Biz Shriners Film Festival is authorized by Harold Lloyd Entertainment Inc. and the Estate of Harold Lloyd, and brought to you by Al Malaikah Shriners and the Show Business Shrine Club.

  • This experience was absolutely remarkable! I was presented with a trophy for best comedy short and it was so professionally done. Walking up on stage felt like receiving an academy award. The music! The performances! It was truly amazing and I learned so much about the shriners in general with how much they give back to the community and help children in general. God bless these guys for going all out and making our team feel so grand. Thank you so much!

I had a great time! Even if the clowns ran off with my award. I hope to come back next festival!
I wish I had know that their was a facebook group for the event and a open house before the show. I didn't receive that info and would have attended and participated more.

To have my short film "Morris Morose" win The Harold Award at the Los Angeles Show Biz Shriners Film Festival was truly an honor! Every communication was friendly and informative. Great people running a wonderful event! I am thrilled to have been part of a Festival showcasing independent film productions for children and families. This is an excellent opportunity for producers of family films - will definitely submit again. Thank you so very much, Los Angeles Show Biz Shriners Film Festival!
