I'm Loris Martino, born in Sanremo, Italy, in 2003, when metamodern culture was just establishing itself.
After a mediocre childhood, with some significant experiences (especially trips around the world and scout camps), in 2019 I understand two things: that I went to the wrong high school and that I don't know what to do with my life. However, I feel the need to meet people and start attending various youth centers in my area. Shortly after, the lockdown period arrived, during which I began to become interested in psychology and other human sciences and became passionate about cinema, reading books and watching films. I therefore developed the idea of being an educator in life and of developing my own philosophy (sometimes through long and exhausting research and reflections). I also participate in local short film productions, join a fantasy/medieval fencing sports group and role-play with friends.
Now I'm in Turin studying educational sciences, and in addition to frequenting numerous environments, I continue to update this blog, which I created at the end of 2021 to spread my ideas and interests.
I see filmmaking as one of the most complex arts, capable of efficiently reporting the spiritual values of metamodernism (the philosophy and culture of this early 21st century). I think it is also useful as an educational tool for its ability to unite more people in the creation of an artwork. In addition to this, the short films I have made wink at the (neo-)romanticist style of recent decades by exploring fantasy, science fiction, surrealism.
