INSIGHT

The story that takes place in an apartment located in the city of Turin, presents a young couple, Marco and Laura, who are already in a marital crisis. The first part highlights the tedium, resentment and disappointment that Marco and Laura live in their daily lives.

Suddenly, in their tired routine, the shocking news of an imminent nuclear threat breaks over the radio. The speaker's voice urges them to stay at home and wear protective masks.
In the second part, the young couple, after putting on the mask, realize that they are united in facing mortal danger.
Marco can't hold back his emotions and declares his love to Laura. Laura, very touched by Marco's sincerity and affection, replies acknowledging her own wrongs (...you are feeding a monster).
Suddenly a blinding light illuminates the room so that the two young people take off their masks under the illusion that the sun has returned.

Director Biography - Cristina Marinelli, Massimo Centola, Loris Martino

My name is Cristina Marinelli, I lived my childhood in the 70s in Ivrea, the Olivetti socio-cultural environment of those years strongly contributed to my artistic training.
I was lucky enough to have two parents who never hesitated to take me with them to the screenings of the Ivrea film club; despite my young age, I soon fell in love with auteur cinema.
I have an artistic training, At first in the “Art Institute” of Turin 1980/85 and after in the “School of Professional Photography” 1986/89 in Lausanne.
I moved to Paris in 1990 where I worked for the major French newspapers as a portrait photographer.
All my work has always been conditioned by two great filmmakers Ingmar Bergman and Andrej Tarkovskij.
Curiosity prompted me to continue my training in photography by attending various workshops at the TPW, furthermore in 2021 I took degree in Psychologists at the University of Valle d'Aosta, finally, I’m finishing my degree in Cultural Anthropology and Ethnology at University of Torino.
INSIGHT is my first short film, not entirely mine as it was a collaboration with two of my film classmates, Zacht and Loris, at Cinelab in Turin

My name is Massimo Centola, aka Zatch. I was born in Turin and since I was a child I have always liked filming and editing videos. In recent years, in parallel with my studies at the Liceo Artistico Renato Cottini, I have discovered my passion for the art of cinema and its history.
After working on various projects as a videomaker and editor, I therefore decided to start my artistic-cinematographic journey. "Qualunque Uomo" is my first independent short film, my first real experience as a director, an extremely personal film despite being set in the 1940s.

My name is Loris Martino, aka Meta Me. I fell in love with cinema in Sanremo, where I was born. The first experience was helping to make the short film "COLORACE", with the Zuccherarte association of Genoa. I worked, then, on some videos for my blog. I am currently studying Education at UNITO, and continue to explore the world of filmmaking, precisely as an educational tool to use in my future work.
