Now celebrating its first edition, the London Latino Film Festival (LoLaFF) is a four-day celebration of Latin American cinema held in one of the world’s most iconic cities.
The festival honours the classics of Latin American cinema while discovering and supporting a new generation of filmmakers and storytellers from around the world. It welcomes works by creators who are Latin American, of Latin American heritage, or inspired to tell a Latin American story, embracing the diversity and creativity that define the region’s culture.
The program features an international competition of short films, feature films, documentaries, and animation, along with talks by industry professionals, networking events, and special screenings of restored masterpieces.
In addition to its main awards, the festival will present a special recognition to the film that best portrays a story related to the environment, celebrating cinematic visions that connect culture, nature, and sustainability.

En su primera edición, el Festival de Cine Latino de Londres (LoLaFF) es una celebración de cuatro días del cine latinoamericano en una de las ciudades más emblemáticas del mundo.
El festival rinde homenaje a los clásicos del cine latinoamericano y, al mismo tiempo, busca descubrir y apoyar a una nueva generación de cineastas de todo el mundo. Está abierto a obras de creadores que sean latinoamericanos, de herencia latinoamericana o que deseen contar una historia latinoamericana, abrazando la diversidad y la creatividad que caracterizan la cultura de la región.
El programa incluye una competencia internacional de cortometrajes, largometrajes, documentales y animación, junto a charlas con profesionales de la industria, espacios de networking y proyecciones especiales de clásicos restaurados.
Además de sus premios principales, el festival otorgará un reconocimiento especial a la película que mejor retrate una historia relacionada con el medio ambiente, celebrando las visiones cinematográficas que conectan cultura, naturaleza y sostenibilidad.

The London Latino Film Festival (LoLaFF) presents awards in the following categories to celebrate outstanding work in Latin American cinema:

All winners will receive a trophy and certificate, presented on the last night of the festival, along with opportunities for professional exposure through festival events and networking sessions.

Rules & Terms

ENGLISH VERSION 🇬🇧
1. By submitting a film, you confirm that you own all necessary rights or have permission from the rights holders.
2. All submission fees are non-refundable.
3. The festival’s relationship and communication will be exclusively with the person or entity submitting the film.
4. The competition is open to short films, feature films, animation, and documentaries from all countries by filmmakers who are Latin American, of Latin American heritage, or who wish to tell a Latin American story.
5. Films must have been completed within the three years prior to the submission deadline.
6. Running time limits:
-Micro Animation films must be fully completed works between 1 and 3 minutes. Trailers, teasers, or excerpts are not accepted.
-Short films (including documentaries and animations) must be fully completed works between 4 and 30 minutes. Trailers, teasers, or excerpts are not accepted.
-Feature films (including fiction, documentaries and animations) must be fully completed works and must not exceed 120 minutes.
7. Filmmakers must indicate the premiere status of their film at submission:
- World Premiere: never publicly screened anywhere
- UK Premiere: screened internationally but not in the UK
- London Premiere: screened in the UK but not in London
8. Films must be submitted via FilmFreeway or the festival’s official website.
9. The festival cannot guarantee theatrical screenings in commercial cinemas for films that are not available in DCP (Digital Cinema Package) format, as this is a technical requirement imposed by most cinema venues. Films selected as part of the Official Selection that are not available in DCP format may be screened in alternative venues that do not require this format. Where possible, the festival may offer guidance or support regarding DCP conversion; however, we cannot guarantee that such conversion will be feasible in all cases.
10. English subtitles are mandatory for all films not in English.
11. By submitting your film, you grant the festival the right to screen your film in the competition and confirm you hold all necessary rights for your film.
12. By submitting your film, you authorise the festival to use excerpts, images, trailers, synopses, and any other material related to your work solely for promotional and marketing purposes, both in digital and print media.
13. Not all submitted films will be selected for competition. Our judges carefully review all entries, and due to the high volume of submissions, individual feedback for non-selected films may not be provided.
14. The festival reserves the right to disqualify any film that contains inappropriate content at its sole discretion.
15. Submission of your film constitutes acceptance of the festival’s rules and terms.
16. By submitting your film, you consent to the festival’s privacy policy, available on our website, and agree to receive communication regarding your submission status, screening details, and festival updates.

VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL 🇪🇸
1. Al enviar una película, usted confirma que posee todos los derechos necesarios o cuenta con el permiso de los titulares de dichos derechos.
2. Las tarifas de inscripción no son reembolsables.
3. La relación y comunicación del festival será exclusivamente con la persona o entidad que realiza la inscripción.
4. La competencia está abierta a cortometrajes, largometrajes, animaciones y documentales de todos los países realizados por cineastas latinoamericanos, de herencia latinoamericana, o que deseen contar una historia latinoamericana.
5. Las películas deben haberse completado dentro de los tres años previos a la fecha límite de inscripción.
6. Límites de duración:
-Las películas de Micro Animación deben ser obras completamente finalizadas con una duración entre 1 y 3 minutos. No se aceptan tráilers, teasers ni fragmentos parciales de la obra.
-Los cortometrajes (incluyendo documentales y animaciones) deben ser obras completamente finalizadas con una duración entre 4 y 30 minutos. No se aceptan tráilers, teasers ni fragmentos parciales de la obra.
-Los largometrajes (incluyendo ficción, documentales y animaciones) deben ser obras completamente finalizadas y no deben superar los 120 minutos.
7. Los cineastas deben indicar el estatus de estreno de su película al momento de la inscripción:
- Estreno Mundial: nunca exhibida públicamente en ningún lugar
- Estreno en Reino Unido: exhibida internacionalmente pero no en Reino Unido
- Estreno en Londres: exhibida en Reino Unido pero no en Londres
8. Las películas deben enviarse a través de FilmFreeway o del sitio oficial del festival.
9. El festival no garantiza la proyección en salas de cine comerciales de aquellas películas que no estén disponibles en formato DCP (Digital Cinema Package), ya que este es un requisito técnico exigido por la mayoría de los cines. Las películas que no cuenten con formato DCP y resulten seleccionadas como parte de la Selección Oficial podrán ser exhibidas en espacios alternativos que no requieran dicho formato. Dentro de nuestras posibilidades, el festival podrá asesorar o apoyar en el proceso de conversión a formato DCP; sin embargo, no podemos garantizar que dicha conversión sea viable en todos los casos
10. Los subtítulos en inglés son obligatorios para todas las películas que no estén en inglés.
11. Al enviar su película, usted concede al festival el derecho a proyectar su obra en la competencia y confirma que posee todos los derechos necesarios para ello.
12. Al enviar su película, usted autoriza al festival a utilizar fragmentos, imágenes, tráileres, sinopsis y cualquier otro material relacionado con su obra con fines exclusivos de promoción y difusión del festival, tanto en medios digitales como impresos.
13. No todas las películas enviadas serán seleccionadas para la competencia. Los jueces realizarán una selección cuidadosa y, debido al alto volumen de inscripciones, no siempre es posible proporcionar comentarios individuales sobre las películas no seleccionadas.
14. El festival se reserva el derecho de descalificar cualquier película que contenga contenido inapropiado a su sola discreción.
15. El envío de su película constituye la aceptación de las reglas y términos del festival.
16. Al enviar su película, usted acepta la política de privacidad del festival, disponible en nuestro sitio web, y autoriza recibir comunicaciones sobre el estado de su inscripción, detalles de proyecciones y novedades del festival.
