An absolute bash of a fest, Locals Only showcases the Pacific Northwest film community by celebrating discount 35mm lenses, DIY light bounces, and running out of SD cards. Independent filming is a tough job, and PNW filmmakers show their best work at the Capitol Theater.

Locals Only is hosted around the Olympia, Washington downtown area, mainly inside the Capitol Theater, a 1924 concert and movie palace owned and operated by the Olympia Film Society. This organization supports a small staff and board of directors along with over 125 dedicated volunteers who select films, organize events, and run the Capitol Theater.

If accepted, filmmaker(s) must be prepared to send a finished DCP drive of their feature or short to the Capitol Theater for screening purposes.

Best entries will be screened during the Locals Only Film Festival at the Capitol Theater April 26, 2024.

Submissions must be from filmmakers located in the greater northwest (Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Northern California, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming). If accepted, filmmaker(s) must be prepared to send a finished DCP drive of their feature or short to the Capitol Theater for screening purposes.
