We are organisers of a local film festival aimed at showcasing the work of emerging talent in film. As new and upcoming filmmakers, we have found there are very few opportunities to gain meaningful exposure. That’s why we’re creating a platform that highlights and celebrates new talent, whilst providing professional feedback and connections in the industry.

We’re working in partnership with the Liverpool Lighthouse, a local charity organisation offering artists, vulnerable people, and young people a creative safe space to develop their skills and well-being through arts. They have recently completed the renovation of a 430-seat auditorium, the former Gaumont Cinema. Equipped with high-spec sound and lighting, it’s a venue in which movies can be exhibited to the very highest standard.

We’re particularly interested in students' work and will be screening a number of student-led projects in the Cinema, in front of industry experts, on the evening of the 31st August 2024.

With such a large capacity, it will also be possible to invite friends and family. Moreover, it will be a unique opportunity to meet other ambitious filmmakers across Liverpool and forge lasting connections.

The industry experts will judge the films as part of a competition element. Two categories of film may be entered; firstly films less than 5 minutes, and secondly films between 5 and 20 minutes. The winner in each category will receive a prize. There is no cost for entry, however you will be expected to attend.

Awaiting final confirmation of the prizes.

No films longer than 20 minutes.

Must attend event.

FILMS AND FILMMAKERS MUST HAVE A CONNECTION TO THE LIVERPOOL REGION.
