The Listening Room Film Festival’s focus is on music and entertainment driven features, documentaries, shorts and music videos, with an emphasis on performers, music and filmmakers from the Southeast area, although other film genres submitted will be considered. It is presented by Henry Turner Jr.’s Listening Room Museum Foundation at Henry Turner Jr.'s Listening Room in Baton Rouge, LA. Dates are Friday, Saturday and Sunday December 4. 5, 6, 11,12 and 13. The festival also features industry panels.

Rules & Terms

The festival will be both physical and virtual. Local, regional, national and international films will be considered and reviewed by selection committee and must have been completed between January of 2025 and up to September of 2026. A retrospective component will include films that were produced by local filmmakers that are important to the continuance of Louisiana filmmaking and its’ history. These films need to have been completed in the last twenty five years. Films for consideration need to be entered by October 18, 2025. Features can be up to ninety minutes, shorts up to thirty minutes and music videos up to fifteen minutes. Submissions can be emailed to listeningroomfilmfestival@gmail.com.

    We had a wonderful time at this unique festival! The blend of film, music and southern hospitality made our evening a great mix. I especially loved our Q&A with Marcia Groff - thought-provoking, conversation-starting questions made for a lively discussion of the film and Louisiana culture.
