The Liberty International Movie Festival (“LIMF”) Committee is excited to organize and share the 2025 Liberty International Movie Festival (“LIMF”) to the public in November 2025. This worldwide festival possesses a fundamentally new meaning to independent films as it highlights issues such as ‘Liberty’ and ‘Human Rights’.

We live in an advanced society where technology and the economy are incomparable to the past. Still, there are many unsolved obstacles where humans lack liberty and basic human rights. It is evident in places such as North Korea, a country failing to provide democracy and freedom.

Our aim is to create a resource that will educate and influence the younger generation to make effective societal changes. The Festival will be utilized to achieve our dreams and wishes to pass on a better world to future generations. Importantly, we aspire and believe a new outlet will be created allowing voices to be heard throughout the world.

Every year our judges will select the winner and honorable mentions from the following categories. In order to apply to any additional categoris, the film must be submitted into a major category. All films must have English subtitles.

Our system of appreciation and awards works so that throughout the 2025 we have attention on the films we receive of the competition. Our Jury will select the Best of each categories and choose the winner who will be qualified by the our goals and vision.

During the event, participants will enjoy blocks of screening with Q&A with directors cast and crew, networking events. Winners of the awards will receive the laurel and certificate.

Rules & Terms

1- In order to submit a film, you must own the rights or have permission from the owner.
2- Films must de from 2024 to 2025 or newer to qualify for the Festival.
3- All films must have English subtitles.
4- All fees are non-refundable
5- LIMF will not be responsible for damaged copies
6- Students must present a valid Student ID in order to receive our student discount.
7- Not all the submissions are selected for the official competition. Our Judges are free to make their own choices and no answers will be given about not selected films.
9- LIMF can consider any film to be disqualified if the festival considers the content inappropriate. If you have any question regarding this decision you might contact us at docustory@gmail.com
10- Filmmakers can submit the film in multiple categories in order to become a multi-award film. Our Team may suggest the categories that are more suitable for the film to apply. Still, the decision about the selection is strictly determined by our judges' team and no selection is guaranteed.
11- A fee is required for the main category submission and also fees for additional categories. For payment structure visit (FilmFreeway website).
12-The applicants (submitters) must accept LIMF Rules and Terms.
13- All submissions in personal categories required the name of the person and the category. You can easily send us this information in the cover letter at FilmFreeway website.
14- Submitting your movie, you authorize LIMF to use, distribute and share the film poster, trailer, synopsis and movie stills in our social media.
15- Best Short length allowed is under 40 minutes, Best Feature length allowed is under 100 minutes.

    Our doc was one of the award winners of the 4th festival. I went there and had an amazing experience. It is a small festival but they do the screening on a big theater in Gangnam. They are a group of very dedicated people, mostly volunteers, to the Liberty and freedom cause and the cinema. I recommend it to any people who have doc or film with a message and or a cause they want to show to the world to join it. Maybe famous and big festival are good for business but festival like this one, has soul and very generous. Thank you for this life time experience as we at the same time discovered Korea, the humble people and their culture which is more than K pop and mainstream K movies/drama.
