The Lebanese Film Festival Association Incorporated is a NSW registered non-profit and proud Bankstown-based organisation that runs the Lebanese Film Festival Australia (LFF) event annually.
Hosting its inaugural edition in 2012, LFF has been built from the ground up and has grown into a national film event, attracting thousands of diverse film patrons across Australia in a dedicated celebration of Lebanese cinema.
To date, LFF Australia has screened hundreds of films from across the globe, that are either filmed or based in Lebanon, or made by Lebanese film makers from Lebanon, Europe, Africa, the Americas and Australia and beyond.
Under the Patronage of Bryan Brown AM, the Lebanese Film Festival Association is run by a Committee of eight members, who have a strong passion for the arts, culture, film and community and grassroots initiatives.
The key objectives of the Association include:
- Showcasing Lebanese Cinema across Australia
- Challenging perceptions of Lebanon, its people, culture and traditions
- Bringing an iconic film program and event to Western Sydney, focusing on Bankstown as a diverse city centre
- Connecting and supporting Lebanese participation in film and creative arts synergies
- Inspiring change behaviours to be more environmentally friendly and socially responsible
- Supporting accessibility and inclusivity to the arts
Each year, the LFF Association strives to challenge itself in creating and delivering a world-class edition that is inspiring, challenging, resilient and captures the cinematic imagination of its audience – cultivating and nurturing Lebanese storytelling at its best.
