As filmmakers, we know the thrill of attending festivals—not just for the networking, but for the experience of watching your film on the big screen with an audience. We also recognize that the first year of any film festival can be the toughest as it finds its footing. That's why, for our inaugural year, we’re starting small with one clear goal: to create a pure screening experience. No Q&As or talk panels—just a dedicated space for filmmakers to bring their crew, family, and friends and share their work in a theater setting. Though this year’s festival will be simple, we’re excited to expand in the future, adding Q&As, panels, and awards as we grow.
For our first year of LeapFest, we will not feature traditional awards, but there will be an Audience Award for the Best Short Film, allowing festival-goers to choose their favorite.
