Seoul Larkspur International Film Festival pursues justice and freedom like the flower language of the Larkspur flower. This festival, which started as a human rights film festival three years ago, has become an international film festival since the second film festival in 2022. Under the slogan of justice, freedom, and human rights, films corresponding to them are screened and related side events are planned ans practiced. SLIFF introduces movies that are becoming a global issue and invite documentary directors. In particular, special section is held by constantly discovering and screening North Korean human rights films. SLIFF, as an early summer film festival, offers free outdoor screenings, Sunset Cinema for families to enjoy together. Also SLIFF holds a short film contest based on the value of justice, freedom, and human rights and judges and awards outstanding works.
The film festival aims to contribute to a just society by protecting the values of freedom and human rights.

1. ADMINISTRATION

Seoul Larkspur International Film Festival(SLIFF) is produced by National Association of Larkspur International Film Festival, a non-profit organization.

2. DATES AND VENUE

SLIFF2024 will be held from June 5 to June 9, 2024 in Seoul, South Korea.

3. OFFICIAL LANGUAGES

The official languages of SLIFF2024 are Korean and English. Non-English language films must be subtitled in English by applicants themselves.

4. QUALIFICATION FOR ENTRY

For Shorts competition, films must have been completed after January 1, 2023 and must not have previously been submitted to SLIFF.

5. COMPETITION SECTION

1) International Short Film: Works less than 40 minutes in length
2) Korea Short Film: Works less than 40 minutes in length

※ Priority considered for Premiere Condition.
※ International Films submitted in category 1) may compete in International Shorts Competition.
※ Korean Films submitted in category 1) may compete in Korean Shorts Competition.

6. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

1) Preview Screener: Online screener link or Digital files(MOV, AVI, WMV)
2) Print: DCP or HD Files(MOV with ProRes 422 HQ or MP4 with H264 preferable)

8. SELECTION

1) The list of selected films will be informed to applicants individually by email.

9. INVITATION

1) SLIFF will offer the selected guests the followings:
- Festival Badge
- Accommodation and meal voucher (for one director or one representative of each film from overseas)
- Interpreter (for an international guest)
2) Directors or representatives entitled to the hospitality must confirm the details of attendance dates during June 5 ~ June 9, 2024 by April 26, 2024.

10. SCREENING AND PROMOTIONAL USE

1) The selected films will be screened in theaters chosen by SLIFF in Seoul, South Korea, during the festival.
2) Screenings are scheduled during the Festival at the discretion of SLIFF. While every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule, SLIFF reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason.
3) No film may be withdrawn from the festival program after its selection, and no film may be screened outside the festival venue during the Festival and before its official presentation without the approval of SLIFF.
4) SLIFF2024 is entitled to use 10% of the running time (max. 5 min) of the submitted work for promotional purposes.
5) After the festival ends, SLIFF may request a special screening with the permission of the director (or of the distribution company). The screening fee must be paid.

※ SLIFF aspires to provide the best quality projection possible but will not be held liable for any failure in the technical quality of the projection. SLIFF assumes that the submitting party or filmmaker(s) or entrant(s) has insured for damage and loss of the festival tape.

11. ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS

In submitting the Entry Form to the festival, SLIFF considers that the applicant accepts the terms of the present regulations as stated in this document.
