Festival Update: Our Last Festival was a Huge Success. Our winners of this session of the festival have been announced on Instagram. The Final and Grand Finale Event of 2024 will be held on a Red Carpet Festival in Lahore in the second week of January 2025, where winners of 2024 will receive their official Certificates and will receive awards worth of 1000$.

We have received over 600+ Submissions in our last session. To maintain the integrity of the festival, we have decided to keep a 5$ fix entry for submissions.

Awards & Prizes

Each year, LIFFA will honor the best projects through curated selections. Participants can submit their work in multiple categories to enhance their chances of receiving an award. Every Quarter-Finalist, Semi-Finalist, Finalist, and Winner will be granted our Official Laurels. Award Winners will also receive a Certificate of Achievement in high-quality digital format, be featured on our official website, and can submit their project credits to industry platforms.

Annually, some of the top short films will be handpicked by our Jury for screening at a special public event in Lahore. Filmmakers selected for screening will be notified 4 weeks before the event.

Rules & Terms

LIFFA is seeking submissions in the following categories: Feature Films 🎥, Short Films 🎬, Documentaries 🎞️, TV/Web-Series 📺, Series Pilots, Student Films 🎓, Animations 🎨, Trailers, Music Videos 🎶, Commercials, Experimental Films, and Scripts ✍️. We accept films of any genre, length, and language. Non-English films must include English subtitles. We accept scripts of any genre and length, provided they are in English, Urdu, or other widely spoken languages.

We do not accept:

Amateur videos ❌.
Extremist or propaganda content from religious or political organizations.
Pornography 🚫.
Films with poor production standards (e.g., bad sound 🔊, lack of subtitles/captions for non-English films, video resolution below 720p HD).
Excerpts or scenes from films — you must submit the entire film.
🎯 BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR PROJECT, PLEASE READ ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS.
By submitting your film/script, you grant Lahore International Film Festival Awards (LIFFA) the right to use excerpts (trailer/teaser/poster/stills) from the submitted project for promotional purposes 📢. The film/script will not be available online without permission. Multiple entries are allowed for each filmmaker, and each entry may be submitted to multiple categories. The winning categories vary each year depending on the submissions we receive. If any category does not meet the LIFFA standard, it will be removed from the competition.

If you submit to the category ‘Best 1st time Director – Short’ 🎥, it must be your first or second time directing a short film.
For ‘Best 1st time Director – Feature’ 🎞️, it must be your first or second time directing a feature film.
For ‘Best 1st time Producer’ 🎬, it must be your first or second time producing any kind of film.
For ‘Best Acting Debut’ 🎭, it must be your first or second time acting in a film (any genre). Failing to meet these criteria will result in disqualification from that category.
🏆 Trophies are optional and not included in the submission fee. Winners can order trophies by covering production and shipping costs. The competition reserves the right to refuse entries, and the Jury may remove a movie from the competition at any time. Entry fees are non-refundable.

By submitting your film/script, you warrant that you are authorized to submit the film for possible screening (private and/or public) 🎞️ and agree to all requirements, rules, and regulations. A selection of the Best Short Films will be chosen by the Jury for screening at a special event in Lahore 🎟️ each year. You agree to indemnify and hold LIFFA harmless from any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses (including attorney fees and court costs) arising from any issues related to copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, or loss/damage to the screening material.
