The Lebanese Outdoors Film Festival (LOFF), founded in 2020, is the first official outdoor sports film festival in Lebanon and the Arab world. Rooted in the meeting point between cinema, sports, and nature, LOFF creates a space where stories of movement, endurance, and human connection can be shared freely.

LOFF was created to fill a gap in the regional film landscape by bringing together filmmakers, athletes, and adventurers around stories that inspire, question, and open dialogue. Through film screenings, discussions, and encounters, the festival encourages cultural exchange and meaningful connection across communities and backgrounds.
The festival showcases films that explore physical movement, the relationship between humans and nature, personal and collective transformation. By highlighting outdoor sports and life in natural environments, LOFF also aims to raise awareness about Lebanon’s landscapes, the importance of environmental protection, and the strength of local sports communities.

LOFF is an independent, apolitical, and non-judgmental platform. It is committed to artistic authenticity and freedom of expression, free from advertising and commercial influence. We welcome diverse voices and perspectives, and we strive to create an inclusive space where stories are shared with respect, sensitivity, and openness.
We are currently accepting submissions in the following categories: Mini Shorts (up to 2 minutes), Short Films (2 to 20 minutes), Mid-Length Films (20 to 40 minutes), and Feature Films (over 40 minutes). LOFF accepts only films focused on outdoor sports, nature, and the environment, with no restriction on the year of production.

Participation in the festival implies that, once a film is selected, the participant agrees to submit the required materials, including the director’s photo and biography, the logline, synopsis, film stills, the official poster, and the official trailer.

The jury operates independently from the festival’s organizing committee, and all its decisions are final and not subject to appeal. The festival reserves the right to grant special mentions, experimental awards, or to divide prizes between participants when the artistic context calls for it.

By submitting an application, the participant grants the Lebanese Outdoors film festival a non-exclusive, royalty-free, and perpetual license to use selected materials for promotional purposes. This includes film excerpts of up to 30 seconds or a trailer, official stills, the film poster, descriptive information such as the logline, synopsis, and director’s biography, as well as the author’s name and photo. These materials may be used on the festival’s official platforms, in press and media communications, printed materials, screening programs, and presentations for partners and the media. Any commercial use beyond festival promotion requires prior approval from the copyright holder.

By submitting a film, the participant declares that they are the legal owner of all copyright and intellectual property rights to the work, or that they have obtained all necessary written permissions for any third-party materials used, including music, images, scripts, performances, and archival content. The participant confirms that the submitted work does not infringe upon the rights of any third party and accepts full legal responsibility in the event of any claims. The festival bears no responsibility for copyright infringement and is exempt from any legal consequences arising from violations of intellectual property rights by the participant.

The festival reserves the right to refuse participation or disqualify a work at any stage if it contains openly discriminatory, hateful, or unethical content, includes false or misleading submission information, breaches the submission rules, or fails to meet the required technical standards, including image quality and subtitles.
