2021 LDUB Film Festival
Call for Submissions
In the face of covid-19 induced pressures we are restructuring the 2021 Tenth Annual LDUB Film Festival as previously announced here. We find that we must move the festival from May to the Fall and thus the 10th Annual LDUB Film Festival will be held November 6th and 7th, 2021.
We are also expanding our focus from just Documentaries to include all genres as we have done in the past. So we look forward to seeing the submission of narrative features and shorts, animations, music videos, etc.
The generosity of sponsors now allows us to offer several monetary prizes. At this time we plan a $100 Best of Festival Award and a $100 Best of Festival Student Award.
A new public environment brings a new structure to LDUB Festival.
Now in its 10th year the LDUB Film Festival remains LIVE with a big silver screen, popcorn on the floor and film lovers in the seats.. We have reduced the festival to just 2 days of screenings, eliminating greet-and-meets, parties and award ceremonies.
As has been our tradition we seek to bring movie-lovers and movie makers together to share their passions for the best movies that we can find. We solicit material by filmmakers from around the world and are looking for superbly made movies that display the unique imagination and eye of the artist.
If your film amazes, we want to see it, no matter what your age, what its length or where you're from.
Student competition is open to students from elementary, middle school, high school, college, art or film school with a valid ID submitted on FilmFreeway with their movie.
Past award winning movies have included animations by an 8 year old 1st time filmmaker to titles that have gone on to Cannes and been shortlisted for the Oscars.
We promote local filmmakers by showcasing their work and creating a collaborative space for the community and artists to share, all the while fostering the next generation of filmmakers. We offer works-in-progress screening for local filmmakers to get peer-to-peer and audience feedback.. We encourage filmmakers from around the globe to share their vision with our devoted audience here in S. Florida.
Again, your movie may be any topic, any length. You may be of any age. Student submissions need valid student ID submitted with their movie on FilmFreeway. English subtitles will be required for works not in English.
Please rush to: https://filmfreeway.com/LDUBFilmFestival, submit your movie and join us at the theater on Mayday.
