Wasn't able to attend in person but there was excellent communication throughout. Also has a good social media presence and I will definitely be submitting my future projects.

It was amazing to be part of the LA Short Scares Film Fest and that my film one back to Los Angeles for a second time. Since I couldn't afford to be able to make the trip for screening, the communication through social media facilitated the chance to have a Q&A Skype session with both festival director and audience. Very grateful and very pleased with LASSFF!!

  • I had the very fortunate opportunity to attend the inaugural LA Short Scares Film Festival in Santa Monica and really have to hand it to festival co-directors Andrew Palmer and Warner Davis for creating such a memorable festival experience. Unlike other festivals I’ve attended, where films were crammed into different blocks held in different spaces so as to make it impossible to view all of the films being screened, this festival gets it right where programming is concerned — selecting a manageable number of films, splitting them up over two nights and then re-running them over two more nights. This allows attendees and filmmakers alike to have more flexibility as far as being able to decide which film blocks they want to attend (the first or second time). They also allow ample time between film blocks for Q&A sessions with filmmakers, which really benefits everyone . . . especially if a filmmaker shared tips and candid stories on their production experience. I really felt I was able to enjoy the films more, interact with other filmmakers a lot more than at previous festivals, and make some new contacts as well as friends. It was a personalized, intimate experience where everyone’s passion for the horror film was embraced and celebrated, and I would highly recommend this festival to anyone considering a submission.
