The Kish Mowj International Film Festival was launched from the start with the aim of nurturing new talents in short films and screenwriting, and of strengthening cultural exchange among artists, institutions, and audiences on the Kish Island, a place of beauty and opportunity.

We believe that the waves of cinema and storytelling, when guided by a creative, humane, and independent perspective, can open a new doorway to the world. Therefore, we strive to create an environment where filmmakers, writers, researchers, and artists have equal opportunities and an open space to develop innovative, impactful works with clear identity.

We see the art of short film as a “wave” that begins small and can reach wider shores and horizons. Accordingly, our mission is:

To discover and nurture new, independent talents in screenwriting and short film.

To provide a platform for showcasing works at national and international levels.

To elevate the status of short films and screenplays as a creative, thought-provoking, and influential trend in Iranian and regional cinema.

To foster collaboration among filmmakers, artists, audiences, and cultural and tourism institutions, because cinema is not just about producing works, but about creating experiences and dialogue.
