From the creators of the Killer Valley Horror Film Festival, which was founded in 2007 by filmmaker Randy Granstrom. For 14 years we've been showcasing the best in indie horror and sci-fi. In 2018 we decided to branch out and start a Comedy Festival as well!

It's a two-night event (Including our Horror Fest) featuring an amazing collection of awesome comedy short films from around the world. (This was true pre-COVID, and hopefully post-COVID, but we've been an online fest in 2020-21. And will probably try to do both online and in-person in 2022.) Take a look at our charter festival for a better idea of what we do:

With limited time slots available, we're looking for shorter shorts, ideally 5 -10 minutes, 15 at the most. The films must have comedy elements. With a foundation in horror, we appreciate dark comedies or horror-comedies as well, but they can be anything from slapstick to dramedies, live-action, or animated. We're just looking for the best in indie-made comedies.

If you're a Jefferson State filmmaker or shot your film in or around Southern Oregon/Northern California, send us a message and we can get you a free entry.

Best Film
Best Ensemble Cast
Best Actor
Best Actress

No money, but you get a lifetime of free entries into either of our festivals and featured in our awards video.

We're pretty free-wheeling at Killer Valley, we're just looking to have two awesome nights of horror & comedy-themed entertainment and to have some drinks with cool folks that enjoy funny flicks. (That was pre-COVID, we've been an online fest for 2020-21. We're hoping to do a mix of both in 2022!) We're mostly looking for audience-pleasing films. Films that make people laugh or gasp, or even better both!

If you live in the area or want to make the trek to the festival, let us know, and we're that much more likely to admit your film into our fest. Is that fair, maybe not? But we want filmmakers to be able to see their films with an audience. We're all filmmakers ourselves, and this fest started as a way to get our goofy, gory films in front of people. As we continue to open it up to more filmmakers, we want the opportunity to meet you and for you to meet fans of horror directly. Of course, if we think your film kicks ass and you can't make it, we'd still love to show it. Thanks!

I was lucky enough to participate in the 2020 Killer Valley Festival, which was an online festival this year due to COVID-19 and wildfires in Oregon that caused delays. The team at KV was super communicative about delays and plans for exhibition because of the pandemic issue, and they were great about promoting the fest on social media platforms and interacting with filmmakers over those channels. The actual festival online worked out great and the online streaming pass was simple and worked perfectly, according to people I spoke to who bought. Loved the whole experience! Hopefully next year we can do it in person!
