The Ketchikan Dance Film Festival is an annual event held in Ketchikan, Alaska. Founded in 2023, KDFF strives to showcase professional dance films produced in Alaska and around the world. KDFF is the only dance film festival of its kind to premiere in Southeast Alaska.

Entering its third season, KDFF is opening a call to all dance film submissions, 10 minutes and under, produced from 2023 onward. KDFF is so thrilled to announce multiple screening events this year:

Saturday, September 27th 2025 at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center (Ketchikan)
Sunday, September 28th at the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center (Ketchikan)

Ketchikan Dance Film Festival invites dance, movement and video/film artists to submit their dance films to the third season of the festival.

1) All Submissions accepted through FilmFreeway only.

2) Submissions must, in some way, employ both choreographic concepts and the language of film. Documentation of live performances will not be accepted.

3) All films must be produced 2023 or later.

4) Submissions must be 10 minutes and under.

5) Due to the brief one-evening length of our screening, priority will be given to films created in Alaska and films that are 10 minutes in length and under.

6) Artists must have copyright permissions for all submitted media and be able to demonstrate these rights upon request

7) By submitting, the artists grant Ketchikan Dance Film Festival the right to screen the film for the duration of the festival and agree to indemnify and hold Ketchikan Dance Film Festival harmless from any and all claims, actions, suits, procedures, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities arising from any copyright disputes

8) Once accepted into the festival, a film may not pull out of the festival or withdraw its submission.

9) Entry fees are non-refundable

10) Lastly, because our festival screening is free and open to the public we cannot accept submissions that include extreme violence or nudity.

My film was selected to take part in the Ketchikan Dance Film Festival Sept 2023! Was a wonderful experience having my film featured. I was able to attend in person and was surprised to see how supportive the local community was with the festival. The Q & A with Christina Hughes had many questions from the local community that attended. I also was able to attend the reception at an art gallery after to meet others. As an artist was amazing to visit Ketchikan and see why Alaska has influenced so many artists. This is a great festival to take part in easy to apply, and great communication throughout.
