Kautik International Film Festival was founded by the Himalayan Society for Art, Culture, Education, Environment and Film Development, primarily to promote cinema culture.
The first two editions were conducted at, and in association with, the Cell for Ethnomusicography and Film Making, Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand.
The third to sixth edition happened at the outer zone of the Jim Corbett National Park, Marchula, Uttarakhand.
This, the seventh edition, would take place on the banks of the river Ganges at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, Dec 2-4.
