Karina Ramos Villalobos is a filmmaker and multimedia storyteller whose work explores identity, gender expression, queerness, and the culture through character-driven narratives. Born and raised on Kumeyaay land, also known as Escondido, California, the land of the hidden-she brings a strong sense of place and community into her storytelling. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Film and Television Production at San Diego State University, where she continues to develop stories that center underrepresented voices, particularly Salvadoran and broader Central American communities.
With a background in journalism and digital media, Karina brings an observational and emotionally grounded approach to her work. She has worked as a video producer for Tulip Medical Products and as a video editor for the Central American Voices podcast.
