The Junktown Film Festival (formerly the Grand Junction Film Festival) welcomes emerging and veteran filmmakers alike! Celebrating Colorado filmmakers of all genres, and innovative works from across the United States and internationally, the Junktown Film Festival takes pride in offering a rich experience for the community.

Set in the biggest city on the beautiful Western Slope of Colorado, the Junktown Film Festival is a celebration of filmmakers. While originally a pejorative name for the city of Grand Junction, "Junktown" has come to refer to the creative and artist aspects of our town.

The Junktown Film Festival is a one-evening event hosted at the Historic Avalon Theater in the heart of downtown Grand Junction, with easy access to award-winning restaurants and breweries. To the east of town is the Grand Mesa, the world's largest flat-top mesa, while the red rock spires of the Colorado National Monument stand in the west. In addition to world-famous mountain biking, the area offers a growing number wineries, horseback riding, and river rafting.

The Junktown Film Festival brings together filmmakers, mountain-town culture, and the adventure of outdoors. We would love to see you film!

We offer awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Animated Film, Best Cinematography, Best Director, Best Documentary Film, Best Picture, Best Student Film, and The Artistic Excellence Award.

Every winner receives a certificate and cash prize.
