A lifelong fan of cinema, my passion for content creation comes from a childhood filled with movies and videogames. Long before I started this group, I used drawing, DIY projects and filmmaking as a way to redirect my urge to create into something productive.
I´ve had a fascination for cinema my whole life, and particularly about special effects, CGI and the whole complex pipeline that constitutes the creation of a movie. I spent all my time drawing poorly made concept art, writing scripts that were basically fever dreams of all the countless movies i watched, it took most of my lifetime so far to develop those ideas into a kind of coherent vision.
I didn't know the first thing about anything involving any step of that giant pipeline, but at the same time the demand there wasn't any courses dedicated to this field, and I decided that wasn't going to stop me, so I had to learn by myself. Reading tutorials about 3d modeling, editing, basic special effects, prop making.
Eventually in highschool I had the miracle of meeting people that are willing to indulge in this insanity with me and work on these projects, and we filmed every change we got to make these videos, and for the first time i had people who shared my excitement and are dedicated enough to get up early in the morning, carry tons of bags filled with gear and then struggle to run around and act in the grueling heat wearing head to toe gear all day.
Every project we have made has been an exponential jump in quality from the other, and maybe one day they will reach a quality level of "passable", and one day I will consider myself good enough to turn those fever dreams into what I imagine them to be. For now, i can just proudly say that I made these, and they are exactly what I meant them to be.
At most of the time, I can be found doing one of four things: Making the props for movies in the workshop, doing R&D for our VFX department, drawing (In my free time) and other related activities.
I have never felt any of these things I do as "work", since the Monoliph is the work of my life, and I feel that my purpose is here, to deliver content that is enjoyable and inspire people to be better and struggle to be the best possible version of themselves.
