The Jeju Drone Film Festival is the only film festival in South Korea, exclusively dedicated to Drone Films and Photos. The event, in its third edition, will take place from March 12th to 15th, 2025 at the Jeju Aerospace Museum in Jeju Island, South Korea.

The official competition section "SOA (State of the Arts)" is open to ALL,
and comprised of 9 categories as follows :

- Landscape (Films showing the beauty and mystery of Mother Nature
all around the world)

- Portrait of Jeju (Films depicting the scenery of Jeju Island with a
different perspective)

- Dronie (A self-portrait film taken with a drone, as shown by
its name coming fromdrone and selfie)

- Freestyle FPV (Films shot with FPV racing drones)

- News & Documentary (News and documentary films shot with drones
or dealing with drones as a theme)

- Narrative (Narrative films shot with drones)

- Innovation (Innovative and experimental films showing the future of
drones and drone films)

- Showreel (Film footage edited for the promotional purposes)

- Still Photography (Photography shot with a drone)

Submitted works should be completed no earlier than January 1st, 2023.
30 minutes or less in length.*
At least 30 % using drone or UAVs.*

1. Submission regulations for Films

1-1. Eligibility requirements: All entries should respect and comply with the following requirements:

1-1-1. The festival is open to everyone, across the world, regardless of nationality, sex and age.
1-1-2. Production Year: All entries must have been produced and completed after January 1, 2023. But, for News & Documentary, the following exceptions are allowed:

- There is no restriction on the use of images taken before January 1, 2023. But, the final editing of the film must be after January 1, 2023.

1-1-3. Length: All entries must be 30 minutes in length or less (unless otherwise specified), including opening and ending credits. But, given the nature of the category, the following exceptions are allowed :

- Dronie: less than 5 minute in length
- News & Documentary: less than 30 minutes in length
- Narrative: less 30 minutes in length

1-1-4. Proportion of images taken with drones: At least 30 % of the total film length must be shot using a drone. But, for News & Documentary, it can be submitted if one of the following requirements is met:

- If a film deals with subjects other than drones, at least 20 % of the total film length must be shot using a drone.
- If a film deals with drones as a subject, there is no limits on the total amount of images using drones.

1-1-5. Compliance with laws, rules and regulations about drones or UAVs: All entries must be made in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations concerning drones or UAV in the country in which the film was originally produced. If a legal issue arises due to the violation of the laws, rules and regulations, the responsibility lies with an applicant, who may also be disqualified.
1-1-6. Restriction on content and subject matter: There is no restrictions on content or subject matter, but if a film includes any content of pornographic, violent, discriminatory or abusive nature, the film will be automatically disqualified.
1-1-7. Multiple submissions: Multiple entries are allowed, at maximum three films per individual or corporation and regardless of categories.
1-1-8. Copyright: The applicants must be a legally appropriate copyright holder of the work, whose copyright remains to them after the submission. It is the sole responsibility of the applicants to ensure that full copyright and permissions have been acquired in advance of submission. The festival is not responsible for any legal dispute involving copyright infringement arising from third parties.

1-2. Deadline for registration: from May, 2024 to Nov, 2024 (Korea Standard Time)

2-1. Eligibility requirements: All entries should respect and comply with the following requirements:

2-1-1. The festival is open to everyone, across the world, regardless of nationality, sex and age.
2-1-2. Production Year: All entries should be taken using a drone, and completed after January 1, 2023.
2-1-3. Restriction on content and subject matter: There is no restriction on content or subject matter, but if a photo includes any content of pornographic, violent, discriminatory or abusive nature, the photo will be automatically disqualified.
2-1-4. Compliance with laws, rules and regulations about drones or UAVs: All entries must be made in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations concerning drones or UAVs in the country in which the film was originally produced. If a legal issue arises due to the violation of the laws, rules and regulations, the responsibility lies with an applicant, who may also be disqualified.
2-1-5. Multiple submissions: Multiple entries are allowed, at maximum three photos per individual or corporation. This is the same for a series of photos.

2-2. Submission guidelines: All photos should be submitted to the festival via file upload on an official website of the festival (www.jejudronefilmfestival.com) after the online registration process is complete. Please note the following details:

- All entries must be submitted with an image file (JPEG) whose size is 3MB to 10MB, nd
whose resolution is 3200*2400 pixels or 300 DPI or higher.
- The festival will not be responsible for lost, damaged, misdirected, unusable or unreadable content.
- If an entry is selected for the competition, the festival may request the applicant to submit the maximum size of the original JPEG image file for exhibition purposes, before Monday, March, 2025, (Korea Standard Time). (The selection will be canceled if not submitted.)
- Additional materials (applicant’s portrait photo, biography, and etc.) may be requested from the applicant for promotional purposes.

2-3. Copyright: The applicants must be a legally appropriate copyright holder of the work, whose copyright belongs to them after the submission. It is the sole responsibility of the applicants to ensure that full copyright and permissions have been acquired in advance of submission. The festival is not responsible for any legal dispute involving copyright infringement arising from third parties.
