RULES & TERMS
ENTRY REGULATIONS
The JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST is a competition for short films that “make Jesus more known, loved, and adored in the Eucharist '' in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church. This contest is open to current students and alumni of John Paul the Great Catholic University. Criteria for evaluation will be:
- Impact as relating to stated goal, to “make Jesus more known, loved, and adored in the Eucharist”.
- Creativity and originality in approach.
- Production quality.
Entries must be under 4 minutes. They should be submitted as teams of 2-4 people and must abide by the JPCatholic Film Handbook. JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST reserves the right to determine the eligibility of any project submitted. There is no limit to the number of entries.
SUBMISSIONS When submitting to the JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST you are agreeing that, if selected, your film(s) will be subject to the following:
Your film(s) are subject to screen at the JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST SHOWCASE and at future John Paul the Great Catholic University events.
LANGUAGE RULES
All foreign language entries must have English subtitles. Silent films are accepted.
COMPETITION
JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST is a competitive event and unless notified otherwise, all films officially selected are eligible for competition. All films are voted upon by an impartial jury.
TIMELINE AND NOTIFICATION
The JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST opens for submission on August 1st and will stay open until October 31st. Films selected for the JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST will be notified no later than December, 2023. The winners of the competition will be announced at the in person JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST SHOWCASE (Official Time and Place TBD).
PRESS MATERIALS
If selected, JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST will require an Electronic Press Kit (EPK) which may include but is not limited to: a high-resolution poster, key art, and bio of the director.
LIABILITY
JPII EUCHARISTIC FILM CONTEST cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged files that are submitted to us.
